No Carsland at DHS?

People can be a little rough on here with others that have differing opinions, just my 2 cents.

I am not trying to stir up the pot but IMHO part of why not to bring cars land to DHS is being missed. I will fully admit I have not been to DCA since carsland was put in, but will be going this coming June. I have seen a POV of RSR and believe that the bigger issue of repeating something would already be at the WDW resort. IMO RSR and TT look very much like the same ride. Why would Disney want to have the same ride in 2 different parks? So if Disney were to bring Carsland to WDW they would need a whole new main attraction for it. That maybe where the hold up comes in and why Disney has decided not to put the money into making the new carsland unique and different from that which is in DCA and Epcot.

EH, I like having different rides in the two parks but in reality most of the rides are clones of each other.
What gets me is that the ride technology in TT and RS is expensive and a nightmare to upkeep. Why they would want to keep using it is a mystery to me?

Disney had no problem building Body Wars at Epcot and Star Tours at DHS, exact same ride system and the same two parks we are talking about here. Having ridden both RSR and Test Track I can say that even though the ride system is the same they are two very different rides. I doubt that average guest will be bothered by the similarity.

I disagree with saying TT and RSR are very much the same ride. Same ride mechanics, sure. But not the same ride. That's like saying Small World and POTC are the same ride because you float around in a boat on a guided track.

The same for Haunted Mansion/Little Mermaid, BTMRR/EE and Laugh Floor/Turtle Talk.

I couldn't agree with this statement more! :thumbsup2 Having experienced both TT and RSR, they are without a doubt; two completely different attractions.

I really don't care for TT, but I absolutely LOVE RSR.

The problem is not the replication of test track or Disney's use of clones....we know we love them.

The problem is a full outdoor replication of a ride system that will be under too much stress in Florida's humidity and heat...

It's also a problem of capacity...the ride would have to handle 2,500 or more riders per hour to be viable...and in order to do that - it would have to stretch to animal Kingdom and back.

They have four waits in DCA for this thing...there are about 3 times as many visitors to wdw as there is to the Disneyland parks.
It doesn't work...because science and math says so

I worry about trying to do too much within the confined space of DHS and then putting out just a so-so product and/or experience. Is there really enough space to do justice to both Star Wars and Cars/Pixar or is this just a fantasy? I can see where it ends up like the old song lyric: "There's nothing worse than to take a drink that leaves you with a thirst". That is what may end up happening.

A real fantasy would be to create Pixar Park as the much desired fifth park :rolleyes1 with plenty of room to create a fantastic experience of not just Cars, but all of the Pixar movies and characters. Let the bean counters go crazy over that idea! :)

I'm just playing around...as always

I'm salty...but harmless...like a llama
~Wow, I guess I'll never know what that means! That's okay, because I think baby llamas are so adorable & cute! :cloud9: So, every time I see one, I will think of you.:wizard:

That's hilarious-- I never would have likened you to a llama--
:rotfl2: ~LOL, this is just too funny.

~Wow, this is the best argument I've ever heard against Carsland at DHS and the first I've ever heard about "four waits". Yay! We win! The last thing DHS needs is another low capacity ride or slow turnover ride like TSM. :(

~Great comment. I'm all for a Star Wars and Pixar Land! I just hope Star Wars land can live up to the hype. :goodvibes

Interesting-- one of the main goals of a brewer is to produce a product with an aftertaste that makes you want to drink more. One of the greatest compliments I have ever received.

I would think this follows through for Disneys business plan-- give them just enough to make them come back....
And we do.

~Wow, this is so deep -- maybe we all can gain some insight from sipping a beer every once in a while! LOL. :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Hi. My dad and stepmom were at WDW last week, and they asked a CM at HS about the rumors. He/she said that they will have a Star Wars land, and Indiana Jones stunt show will be no longer. He/she also said we're getting Pixar Land, and will no longer have the car stunt show and the back lot tour. So, according to the CM, those are the plans. I hope this is true, as I've heard the Cars land in DL is great. However, we're not big fans of Cars but do love pixar. HS does need something IMO. :0)

While these CM rumors have to be taken with a gigantic grain of salt, that scenario make the most sense...which also means that it probably won't play out that way.

I understand it's not official and that these things take time. However, I am a believer that there is truth to most rumors...and this is a believable one. Like you said, it makes sense, and I hope we hear something soon.
