No can opener?

Last week on our first trip home to BCV, my daughters decided they wanted to hang back on Monday evening, and DH and I were going over to Big River for apps. DD8 wanted her standby of Kraft Easy Mac, while DD13 wanted a tuna sandwich - No Problem, we're in a villa!:D I opened the drawer to find out there was no can opener in it. I called housekeeping and explained that we were trying to make something, and they sent one up in less than 10 minutes.

Back home (here) I noticed someone else mention the same thing staying at BCV. I looked in the Guide book and realized that can opener is NOT listed on the kitchen items. Is this really the case in all DVC resorts? I think a can opener is a much bigger staple than some of the other things in the kitchen!

What have other people experienced - do I need to put that on my list for next time? Natt

We're just back from a week at BWV and we had a can opener in our kitchen - in fact, we used it to open our cans of tuna. Sure seems like there should be a can opener in every kitchen.

We just got back from HH and there was a can opener in our room. We had packed one just in case since it wasn't on the list. I too was wondering if there will always be one and I can eliminate it from our packing list.

Stayed in a studio in VWL in January and we definitely had a can opener.

One of my pet peeves is that there is not even a BOTTLE opener in the OKW Studio's unless you request one and I had only non-twist off bottles of beer. :( Perhaps they have changed this since our last visit. I always pack one now just in case. ;)

I don't remember there being a can opener in the BWV studios we've stayed in, but can't say this has been an issue for us. More important to me is a bottle opener for those non-twist off beer bottles and a corkscrew for bottles of wine. I now pack a folding combination corkscrew/bottle opener that includes a small knife blade (for removing the foil on a bottle of wine). I pack it with my shaving kit in the checked luggage. Sometimes there is a corkscrew in the studio, but I prefer the ease of use of the one I bring.
