Debbie in Canada, thanks for the little boosts your post gave to so many of us. I was feeling bad that I went over budget on the trip. But you restored my perspective. Now I am thankful that I came in as close as I did. Last year, I would have gone, spent whatever I had in my wallet and used a credit card then worried about paying bills later in the month. This year I know about budgeting, planning and sticking to a plan so I will have money to get through the month and the trip was basically all paid for out of current money - no credit card!

OMG! Pages and Pages... and now I'm craving oatmeal, chinese food and greek yogurt. Alas, we eat the house clean before a week away. But, seriously, some of you are having a great month!:cheer2: And I'm not just talking about $0 days, I'm talking about awareness! It's not so much about what you spend, it's about acknowledging how much you spend on what!

I don't know if I'll get to post again before we leave. Tomorrow, I have to drive Miss Lovegood to LaGrange so she can spend the week with my parents. Then, I have to do all those little things you have to do when you need to be packing! I call it the place between bliss:cloud9: and chaos:headache:.

Worked a 13-hour day yesterday (until 10pm) so I bought dinner out. Boss bought lunch today since we worked through it, so...yay. :woohoo: This month is going quickly, which is good when considering how much I have left in my budget. ;)

9/1 - $9 groceries
9/2 - $11 Lunch
9/3 - $1 snack
9/4 - $9 Pizza dinner
9/5 - $46 groceries, $29 other (diapers & vitamins), [$10 meds - not listed below]
9/6 - $0
9/7 - $60 State Fair admission, parking & food
9/8 - $0
9/9 - $9 dinner for me
9/10 - $0

BUDGET
Groceries - 55/300
Other (clothes, diapers, etc) - 29/150
Dining Out - 9/110
Gas/Parking - 0/130 (this amount based on work paying my parking this month, there is a small chance they won't, then I'll need to raise budget)
My Fun Money - 21/50
State Fair - 60/??

EXCEPTIONS
* Reward for meeting my weight loss goal for Summer DIS Biggest Loser - download new season of TV shows to my iTunes/iPod.
* Fun Money - $50 each for DH & I. I'll just track mine here so I can remember how much I have.
* Sister's Birthday - $75 - spent $29 so far
* Baby gift for friend - $40
* Photo Software - $260 - We put this off from last month, but photography is too important to us to keep using the free software we have. Last week we had another glitch that lost 100 photos, even though we back up everything. Photo is our main hobby (other than traveling to Disney - HA!) and we don't take DD to get her pictures done - we do them ourselves.
* Passport - something else I put off from last month

You put it in a nutshell, Susie. Have a wonderful time! See you when you get back!

I spent $0.25 on a diet DP yesterday at work (I do everyday - it's cheaper than the grocery store prices!) I also returned some of that stuff I talked about earlier (you know, my OVER BUDGET!!! stuff). I had to pick up some necessities like fruit, juice packs for the kids lunches, and toothbrushes but I still had a net CREDIT of $20!! Yeah!

The house was a bit warm yesterday after turning off the A/C but we suffered through it :) and today a cold front blew in so it should be cooler today.

Oh, my son did spend $40 of HIS money to join cub scouts - but I think that is money well spent!

Thanks everyone!:goodvibes

I'm supposed to be printing boarding passes, but I just have to share with people who understand!:goodvibes We finally figured out how to tell DS we are going to WDW for his birthday. We bought helium balloons (1 Mickey H-BDay, 6 plain multicolored) and we put them in our big suitcase (which is no longer usable because it goes WAY over 50 lbs). On the bottom of the strings, we tied the blank card our luggage tags came glued on. It has the picture of the little boy meeting Mickey on his porch in ToonTown. Inside, we wrote "Happy Birthday! We're going to DisneyWorld!" Oooh, he's just gonna freak!popcorn:: He loves the commercials where the balloons pop out, so he'll get his own balloon moment!:goodvibes

Have a great week everyone!
