Thanks for posting this b/c I feel the exact same way!! The kids got out of school on May 21st and the budget went down the drain. Even though I have tracked every receipt for my budget sheet, I too am embarressed to post it.

I love your idea of the "mommy" budget line. Just in the past 2 hours I doled out money for one child to go to a movie, money for another child to get a Jonas Brothers magazine, and money for a third child to get a new water bottle for camp. Its out of control! But darn how I love the little munchkins.

Yeah, seriously! I was like, how did that happen? I totally feel your pain. Now I just have to make up some sort of budget for June...:faint:

Ugh--
I did not do as well as I had hoped this month. I was over budget in several categories-- groceries, GAS (by 108 dollars), restaurant dining (by 150!), gifts, charitable contributions. Had a couple of graduations that I didn't include. Still, even though it felt at times as though I was hemorraghing money, I didn't dip into savings, so all is well.:thumbsup2
I think I'll take the summer off and join up again the fall--thanks Disers!

5/12 -Survived the 80th party - Sister of course went over the original budget. We split it 5 ways(5 kids) I ended up with a bunch of the leftover food and am having lunches and snacks all week "for free". Mom had a fabulous time and it was well worth it.
On to the graduation and graduation party.
I am pretty close to on track right now.

5/20 - finishing up the menu planning and house stuff. Will have 12 people sleeping here(beyond our reg. family) for 2 nights. I feel okay, concerned I have forgotten a BIG item.

5/25 - She graduated with honors yesterday. We had a small lunch for 10 after the graduation and then we went off to 3 open houses. The lunch was included in the food for the party ( 35.00 but leftovers now for lunches this weekend and next week at work.
The "big " party is on Saturday. Expecting about 100. Taking Wed. off for food prep, house prep, last minute stuff.
I feel a bit out of whack due to the car issues and lack of sleep last night but today is a sunny beautiful day and I expect to accomplish many little tasks that are on my list and hope to sleep soundly tonight.
On to the the BIG ONE!!
6/2 update: We made it!! The party was a huge success!!! The last guest left the firepit at 3:00 am. The last staying guest left yesterday. I think we feed about 75. We all had a great time. There were bodies sleeping all over on Sunday. I stayed within my budget for the food and beverages. My hubby did not stay in a budget building his dream firepit. His guess was 800.00 off. It will add value to our home so it is okay. It was a huge hit. The one thing that we could not control - the weather- predictions were that we would have some isolated storms. Yeah!!! No storms . no rain and no wind and 70 degrees. Beautiful day!!!

Feels good to put it on paper rather than have it run wild and wonder where it all went.
