Tomorrow will not be a $0 day. DH and I are going on a date, and I need to go to Sam's. Weekends are my weakness!

Wow, this is new to me, but a great idea. I may try and join next month, since so far this month I think I have spent some $ every day. Guess I would have to start taking lunch to work some days cause that is an everyday expense

Good luck to everyone!!

Oh, yeah. We live in a small village just outside the city where I work. DH is the stay-at-home parent, and no car. DAILY, he pops into the grocery store to pick up the little things, that he thinks we need. I try to explain, wait until ONE day, and do all the shop [he goes in on Tuesday night to pick up DD from choir, so that is a shop day]. $2.00 here, $5.00 there and he messes up my 'no buy' days. No getting through, so that is why my $0 is on the 'low' end (33%) instead of the higher. (and why I don't always achieve it)

Well, over time, I have made DH as frugal as me. He's actually pretty onboard with this no-buy month, and I'm finding I have more time for other things (like the YMCA and getting donations ready for my Disney Give a Day) b/c I'm not shopping. I'm one of those people who likes to look, which translates into buying super sales. Anyway, good luck! Your making great strides. : )

3/1 $0
3/2 $0
3/3 $0
3/4 $0
3/5 $35 gas, $44 Dollar Tree for birthday party stuff for today, $6 lunch, $16 pictures for DD, $77 groceries

4 no-buy days down, 6 to go.

So far 4 zero dollar days in March. Today we're going to Walmart for groceries, and our planned eating out lunch (taking something fast to the park). Hoping for a week of no spend days-until Friday when we go to Omaha for the weekend (kids' spring break).

Fell off the wagon with some spending that wasn't necessary or planned but I'll be back on track tomorrow!

I'm going to try to have as many "no buy" days as possible this month. I don't have a set budget for anything in particular and groceries are running low, which might mean a big Costco bill for this weekend, but I'm going to try and stop the "dribbling away" of my money at places like the video store and Dunkin Donuts!! I'm not worried about the big bills.... just the slow leak of money that occurs on a daily basis!!

3/1 Money spent - $0 (plus I worked, so I earned money!)

3/2 Money spent - $0 (worked again!)

3/3 Money spent - $0 (didn't work... tempted by Target, but avoided it)

3/4 Money spent - $0 (so far!!.... plus I am at work!!)

I'm sure that soon these numbers won't be so pretty. I'm sure that the car will need gas and I will be buying some groceries. But so far, so good!! (This is just for me.... I don't monitor DH's spending).................P

3/4 Money spent - $10 (groceries) (but I worked so money came in!)

3/5 Money spent - $91 (2 pairs of jeans for DD at Hollister - $38, underwear for both kids at Aeropostale - $35, shared a dinner plus two drinks in food court with DD - $9, shared a smoothie - $5, splurged on coffee/hot chocolate - $4) The jeans were needed, but a splurge from Hollister. Same with underwear. But I worked again, so that is a bit in the "+" column!

3/6 Money spent ... don't know yet... heading to Costco and my car needs gas, so it will be a big day.

March 6- We went to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D. Tickets $42.50 and $6.50 for popcorn. :scared1: We rarely go to new movies but the kids really wanted to see it in 3D so we went to the first show of the day for the early bird special. What else... Sam's club for groceries, cleaning products and a new swim suit for me-$131. Chuck E Cheese, we drank free soda and used free token coupons so $0 there and $0 to build projects at Home Depot so still some budget things. Oh, and dinner on the way home $14. DH and I were supposed to go out on a date tonight but I wasn't feeling good so we will go tomorrow if I feel better. So today we spent $187.50. Gosh, that sounds awful!

Total Spent $392.50

I said weekends were my weakness. :sad2:

ETA- I didn't even really like the movie, all that money and I can't even say it was worth it. The kids liked it though, so I am glad for that.
