No Buy August

I'm in! Might be a bad month for many with back to school shopping, but DH and I don't have that problem just yet.

We are finishing a room in our home to be a new bedroom. We found an amazing hardwood cherry 6 piece king bedroom suit - plus mattress - for $2800, so my Christmas fund, vacation fund, and part of the savings for the room are GONE! We also have a friend's wedding in Pittsburgh in two weekends, and had committed (back when times were more flush) to visiting my brother in San Francisco this fall, so that is coming in 2 1/2 months.

So very long story short - we are very lucky that our broke state is self-imposed and not due to an emergency, but da$& we need some cash!

Goal for this week: no buy until this Saturday, when we rent the Uhaul to pick up furniture, and Sunday for grocery shopping and buying my dad a bday gift.

In related news - need to find a birthday gift for $60 or less for a guy who likes golf and nice cars (yikes)

I'm in for only 4 shopping days through 8/25 when we head to Disneyland! I'm ridiculously stocked up on tp and cleaning supplies thanks to the Target deal and I made big trips to Costco, Winco, etc. recently so there's no reason to keep spending!
