No Buy April- come join us!

Quick question: Does it count as a no buy when fiancé is paying (for example, he treated me to dinner and movie on Monday)?[/QUOTE]

I think it depends. My husband has a seperate account for his day to day expenses and splurges. I do not track expenses that come out of that account because I have no control over it. If I did, (insert vent here) he'd actually eat a leftover for lunch every now and then.(vent over)

If he treats me to dinner and it comes out of that account then I don't count it. Because that's him spending "his money".

I only track what comes out of our "general fund" because that's my "domain".

Everyone does their personal banking differently, so you have to figure out what works for you. Some people prefer sharing an account - for us this arrangement works.

Thats funny we all have our ways of dealing with our signifgant others and their spending. My hubby also has his own "lunch money" account but he almost never uses that money on me! The thing I do is if I had a no buy day and then he stops on the way home from work and picks up milk or something (when I didn't ask him to) I count that purchase on my next spend day. I'm not letting him take away any of the few no buy days I manage to get! It's also not right to yell at him over it, so I count it next time :cutie:

April 1- School Fundaiser Night at Chuck E Cheese $19.06
New Moon DVD, socks for Easter Baskets and popcorn for resale at Walmart $20.36 ($5.40 for the popcorn.)
Total- $39.42 paid out
April 2- $0 ~~~I am counting this as a $0 spend day because all I spent on was taking my DD8 to the eye doctor ($60 copay) and because her eye is not getting better they had to patch it, so $12 for a patch. This to me is the same as a morgage, insurance and all that. It is a necessity. So while I am writing it down for my benefit to know where the money went, I am calling today a no spend day. Total- $72.96 It was a day off from school so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to do something with them, but we played outside (it was 86 today) and made peanut butter playdough (like at Coral Reef.)
April 3- Busy Day but financially not too bad. We did 3 eggs hunts (town, Adventure Landing and Girl Scouts) and 2 free crafts (Michael's and Home Depot) and played at the park.
$5 Donation to Make a Wish
$1.50 for a mid day slush for the kids (it was 88 degrees in upstate NY!)
$10 gas
$19.38 pizza for dinner
$1.08 New Moon DVD(second copy, this one is for charity.)
$4.50 New Disney Family Stickers for the van, mine are beyond peeling. This is not a necessity, I know, but I bought them anyway. I got them off eBay for a lot less then the ones I bought in Disney.
Total- $41.46
April 4-

Easter Dinner Out (with coupons) $24
Ice Cream for Dessert $3
Groceries $99

I am having a terrible time getting any no spend days; instead, I seem to be nickel and diming my money away. And tomorrow will not be no spend as I need gas in the car.

Goals = Spend $650 (or less) and have at least 15 $0 days. Also...to only eat out once this month. (Unless we go out of town to visit family, because then we basically have to eat fast food a little.)

I live near Valley Forge Park, in Pennsylvania. A new Wegmans opened up in October in Collegeville, and I go there b/c they give out 2 free items with a $10 purchase--this week is OJ and chips. I did four trips last week for the freebies.

I actually work for QVC, so that's why it's my name, but I also do LOVE shopping--or the hunt for a good deal. Especially Target and it's after holiday sales! And the Lands End sale at Sears... and the KMart toy clearance. See? I have a problem. LOL!

I am jealous. We don't get freebies at Wegman's, but it is the most amazing grocery store, so I can't complain. It is where I shop exclusively which is why I feel Danny Wegman's owes me. :rotfl:

As for your "problem" they say admitting is the first step, right? :rotfl:
