I did really badly towards the end of March. I will have the same goal as March though so hopefully I get stick to it this month!

Goals = Spend $650 (or less) and have at least 15 $0 days. Also...to only eat out once this month. (Unless we go out of town to visit family, because then we basically have to eat fast food a little.)

1st = $52 (groceries)
2nd = $36 (gas for husband's car)
3rd = $0
4th = $0
5th = $0

Total so far = $78

Zero dollar days = 3/15

This is going to be a rough month. But, I guess it will be a good guide for months to come. Spring break is not helping AT ALL!!!!!

4/5 – $270 (3 seasons passes to Kings Dominion)
$36 (lunch and ice cream at Kings Dominion)

The seasons passes however is cheap entertainment for DD and I this summer (theme park and water park included). It's 15 minutes from the house and we usually do not eat at the park. We either pack & picnic or eat before we go. We may splurge for an ice cream before we leave and we drink the free ice water all day :)

Hello everyone!!

4/4: $0!!

Today: $18.50 for a Dooney and Bourke tan/brown Mickey wristlet for my sister in law. This is her birthday/Mothers Day gift, for our Disney trip. So, not a $0 day today.

2/10 8 to go.

Hit the after Easter sale at Target, but didn't go too crazy, so I'm reporting it afterall. :) Maybe a no-buy tomorrow...

So I wasn't planning on spending any cash-o-la today, but my DD6 was invited by family to go to our local fun center. It was only $7.50 for the whole day so I guess it wasn't a bad deal. I think I'm going to have a hard time doing $0 days:rolleyes1 But I guess that the end total is what really matters. Here's to saving for Disney!!:cool1:

April 1- $5.99 crocs for DD6
April 2- $1.39 @ grocery store for TP, eggs, and produce. I had $15 in catalina coupons so that really helped me stick to my list. I wanted to spend as little oop as possible.
April 3- $8.50 movie ticket
April 4- $0
April 5- $7.50 Classic Fun Center

Total- $23.38
Left to Spend- $426.62

April 1- School Fundaiser Night at Chuck E Cheese $19.06
New Moon DVD, socks for Easter Baskets and popcorn for resale at Walmart $20.36 ($5.40 for the popcorn.)
Total- $39.42 paid out
April 2- $0 ~~~I am counting this as a $0 spend day because all I spent on was taking my DD8 to the eye doctor ($60 copay) and because her eye is not getting better they had to patch it, so $12 for a patch. This to me is the same as a morgage, insurance and all that. It is a necessity. So while I am writing it down for my benefit to know where the money went, I am calling today a no spend day. Total- $72.96 It was a day off from school so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to do something with them, but we played outside (it was 86 today) and made peanut butter playdough (like at Coral Reef.)
April 3- Busy Day but financially not too bad. We did 3 eggs hunts (town, Adventure Landing and Girl Scouts) and 2 free crafts (Michael's and Home Depot) and played at the park.
$5 Donation to Make a Wish
$1.50 for a mid day slush for the kids (it was 88 degrees in upstate NY!)
$10 gas
$19.38 pizza for dinner
$1.08 New Moon DVD(second copy, this one is for charity.)
$4.50 New Disney Family Stickers for the van, mine are beyond peeling. This is not a necessity, I know, but I bought them anyway. I got them off eBay for a lot less then the ones I bought in Disney.
Total- $41.46
April 4-
Walmart (razors and medicine) $18
Easter Dinner Out (with coupons) $24
Ice Cream for Dessert $3
Groceries $99
Total- $144
April 5- $0

Total No Buy Days--- 2

Total Spent- $300.84 (minus $72.96 medical)

I'm so happy I found this thread!

Goals=

1. Don't spend any of our money on eating out.
2. Don't buy any "wants". (The yearning I have to go buy TS2, Princess & The Frog, and Alice in Wonderland is so hard to ignore (but can be tamed by sending an email to MIL to pick them up and hold them for Christmas presents.)
3. Don't over-buy on the necessities. I always want to make sure I have plenty of everything in the house (You know "in case we run out we have more...and some more".)
4. Make sure I am using the groceries we have before I buy more. (For example: making a list of pantry items and meat in the freezer every week before I go through the grocery ads to make our list.)

Why? All of our extra money this month and even next will go towards our Vegas spending money fund for our upcoming June trip. After that passes all of the extra money will be put away for WDW and Clearwater Beach in October.

So far...

Groceries/Necessities: $41.57 (however, I used a $10 GC we received for switching our Tribune subscription to auto-withdrawl) so it's really $31.57
Gas: $60
"Extras": We had to buy DH's Gma and Brother bday presents so that was a total of $42.12 Unfortunately, I forgot about these expenses and had to put them on credit. :(

We have NOT spent any money on "wants" or eating out. We did spend Friday at the zoo but my mom gave us the money b/c we took my sister with us, so lunch and dinner were on my mom. :thumbsup2

Hello! Newbie here. I'm not going to set goals for right now, just keep track and see what happens. Then I'll set goals next month when I see how this month goes.

the 1st and 2nd are estimated since I don't remember exact totals

4/1- $60 something at walmart. birthday present and household items
4/2- $1.49 at shopko for egg coloring; approx $20 for groceries
4/3- $0
4/4- $0
4/5- $0
4/6- $0

I haven't had a chance to post my spending yet for this month!

4/1 - $14.93 cat food/litter
4/2 - $9.86 lunch, $5.00 tip for Red Cap, $27.93 DD Easter/Birthday gifts (ordered back in March but just charged to card now so I guess it has to count for April!)
4/3 - $0!
4/4 - $0!
4/5 - $24.00 laundry

I also just have to share how I resisted temptation thanks to this thread - on 4/1 after work I stopped by the store to buy cat food & litter, as planned. For some reason as I'm walking through the grocery store, I think to myself, "I wonder if they sell Kosher for Passover Coke here." So I make a detour to the soda aisle and there it is, sitting on the shelf in its tempting yellow cap. I took a bottle off the shelf & put it in my cart. Then I thought about how I wrote in this thread that my planned spending for that day was $15 for cat food/litter, and asked myself do I really NEED this Coke? Of course the answer was no, so I put the bottle back on the shelf, got the cat items I came in for, and spent almost exactly the amount I'd planned. That felt better than having a bottle of K for P Coke in my fridge. Thanks No Buy-ers! :thumbsup2
