How come you cannot book a 7 night cruise after may 2005 ? I would really like to book a cruise for June 2005 and i cannot even get a quote.

There is a lot of speculation about that but right now that's all it is.

Some say that the Magic will be repositioned for a while to the West Coast to tie in with Disneyland's 50th birthday.

Also there is talk that another DVC Member Cruise may be in the works (they took over an entire booking of the Wonder in Feb. 2003 and talk is they may take over the Magic for a week in 2005).

We're dying to book a June/July Western but can't find any info about them. A few days ago (maybe Jan 18??) the DCL website showed sail dates through Dec 2005...except for the summer. Half of May, all of June, July and Aug were listed as n/a! The next day, the site was back to merely showing dates up to April. It's quite annoying.

As for the rumors, I've heard them, too. I hope the Magic doesn't go to California...right or wrong, my impression is that Pacific water is very coooold. That just doesn't say "cruise" to me. I'd be open to a DVC cruise in the summer as long as it's Caribbean and the price isn't inflated.

I know Andy and I are waiting this one out also since we will be having our big 5-0 Birthday Celebration on the Magic sometime that year! We'd like to see it go West Coast to join with Disneyland's celebration though!

I am too waiting for the dates for 2005. My DH and I wanted to go some time in Sept/Oct. Love the Wonder and want to try the Magic. See which one is better.

Please Cruise Fairy - Help DCL decide what to do with the Magic in 2005.

I want to be cruising in 2005!

My step-son and his fiance called DCL about a week ago inquiring as to when the rates would be available since they are planning their wedding and honeymoon in July 2005. She was told that the ports have not been confirmed thus the delay in posting rates.

Since they have now booked the church and reception hall and the date is officially set, their best bet is to contact a DU agent to hold their room choice as soon as the rates are available.

Hopefully the itineraries and rates will be released soon.

No fears about water temp in the Mexican Rivierra.....to assume that water off Mexico would be cold would be to assume that the water off the Carribean would be cold, since the water on the north ends of BOTH coasts are cold. We have cruised south from Los Angeles, and the Mexican water was just delicious.

I hope, hope, hope that there will be a west coast repositioning to celebrate Disneyland's 50th.

Ive been waiting forever to plan my 10th anniversary cruise for the summer of 2005. Up until now we have only done the shorter cruises, but were going for the 7 day Western for this occasion. If the Magic sails out of CA, it wont happen. :(

Looking for same info, Hope to go on the Magic 7 day western in June 05. Like to make deposit soon......

I have a deposit on another cruise date while I'm impatiently waiting for the rest of 2005 to open up!

I went on Celebrity and RCCL and it doesn't look like they've opened up past April 2005 yet either. Not sure if that makes anyone feel better, but...

BTW, I have high hopes for more Southern Caribbean ports of call!

I have beenlooking for June, 2005 for other cruise lines. At this points I haven't seen any with prices for summer, early May is the latest I've seen online. I've looked at Carnival, Celebrity, RCCL and DCL. It just seems to be the natur of the industry and I wouldn't read too much into it.

We sailed on the Wonder in June of 2001, and promised the kids a 7 day Western cruise when our older son graduates from eighth grade in June of 2005. I was told on the phone that more info would be available within a month, so we're waiting...not so patiently!:earseek:

I was told by the DCL agent who rebooked our next cruise that Disney is building it's third ship. It will be identical but bigger. It will cruise the caribean, and the oldest ship, the magic, would most likely be going out west. They send their oldest ship because that is the one that is most experienced. For a crew going to a new area, they need to feel comfortable.

From our standpoint, I am hoping that DCL decides to bring the Magic here and leave it here!! (In CA, that is).
We've had to fly a long way for our cruises, and the cost can be a bit prohibitive, but we do it because we love Disney.
:duck: Go ahead and get out your flame throwers, but the East coast doesn't OWN Disney...IMO DCL loses a lot of possible West coast money by not having a ship over here.
Frankly, I'd rather cruise the Caribbean than the Mexican Riviera, but, who knows, maybe they'll add Hawaii. And it would be pretty nice for us to take a quick 4-day down the coast for our DCL fix.

No flames here! I WOULD LOVE a Disney ship to be stationed in S. California. The cost getting to the E. coast IS prohibitive for Western area living because getting to Florida from here takes time and money! It's over 300 dollars per ticket to go from SLC to Orlando which means for the 5 of us it's 1500 JUST for airfare! Then you add on the 4 plus hours of flying time with not many direct flights and it takes about 6 hours when you add layovers. We can get to S. California for $99 bucks round trip on SW AND it takes 2 hours max. I think they are missing the "boat" if they dont move one ship to the W. Coast and I for another would LOVE it if they would bring one this way!!!

I agree, I would love love love not to have to spend $1200 in airfare and just spend $100 max on gas to drive to the port and sail on Disney, if this ever happens I might just put Barb and Tony in some competition.;)

:Pinkbounc I'm getting excited just thinking about the idea that maybe by this time next year, I might be booked on the Magic, and it will only take me an hour to get there!!!!
I'm always so far behind the pack, I have no dream whatsoever of being on whatever "special" DL anniversary sailing they may have, but if they keep the ship around for awhile, you can BET that we WILL be on her!!! :bounce:

We r geting Excited to , does not matter we have to fly to one place or another and a new route is just great we love Inaugural cruises had a blast on the Western ...... Not to mention the Californian residents discount.... not for us..
