No "big" skating at Tarzan today

Just back from WDW tonight. Today at the 12:00 show of Tarzan Rocks in Animal Kingdom there wan no big skating scene. There was some of the smaller jumping tricks, but no skating on the wings or in the audience. Was that just for this one show or has the big skating been elimianted?

I think they decide whether to do the skate around the stadium depending on weather conditions. When we went in February we saw the show twice on two different days. The first time it was raining and they didn't skate around, two days later the weather was nicer, and they did skate around. We also had different performers.

They were skating last weekend, so I don't think it has been elimiated.

Thanks for the reply. Today, we had one of the best days I have ever had weather-wise at AK. But maybe there was something else involved. The big skating scene was one of our favorites. If it is gone, I do not expect us to go back to Tarzan Rocks with the same frequency.

I've read about others who dislike it so much, but I find it to be fun, light and the Phil Collins music is fantastic.

I have seen the Tarzan show 30+ times, and only seen them not doing ALL of the skating twice. Once was last friday, the 4th I think? The weather was fine, but I don't know why they cancelled it.......but that was the worst Tarzan show I had seen.

On Fridays one of the skaters has PT for his sholder- I know because IM in for my knee- this might affect the show.

I've also seen them not do it on very very hot days. I think with the dancers sweating.....that can't chance one of the skaters to slip.

Wow, what a disappointment. I tell everyone about this show now. I think the skating makes it fabulous.

The Disney website has an ad for skaters. Based on the description, it is obvious that it is for the Tarzan show.

We saw it on our last trip, and I thought it was awesome, but when we went back a few weeks ago, there was no skating! I thought maybe they had eliminated it all together.

The weather was not bad when we were there. No rain or wind--it was kind of hot that day (upper 80s), but I know it can get A LOT hotter.

I'm sad now--I missed the skating!

The skating is such a physical strain, I'm sure they get injured & can't perform - like other pro athletes.

I had a friend who was an "actor" in NY (actually a waiter). Anyway he had friends who the Starlight Express show. It was amzaing how many injuries they had from the skating. They claimed that was why the costumes disguised most of them so you could not tell who was who. Disney probably doesn't have LOTS of extras so if a few of them are out with injuries or illness they just adjust the show.
