No Availability June 14-19

I am looking for a room that will accommodate 5 people--preferably at a deluxe or villas. I looked online and it showed nothing available (played with dates/split stays/number in the room, etc.). So, I assumed the site was down or experiencing some "glitch", so I called.....nope there is nothing available according the cast member.

Does anyone have reason to believe they will increase availability in the next two weeks--when my payment is due?

Having been in your situation before, I believe the only thing to do is to keep checking as often as you can, every day. Things do open up, but you have to be there to grab it when they do, and for your particular need, inventory is even lower. Maybe someone here has a better way. Good luck!

In the next two weeks? No. The Vacation Club villas are pretty much booked solid, so no more rooms will be moved from DVC to cash inventory. The only deluxe resorts that are not open are AKL (no projected opening date at present), BC (opening May 30 and already booked up for your dates) and WL (opening June 6 and booked up for your dates).

If everything else is fully booked, your only hope would be for someone to cancel before final payment is due. That would open up space under existing inventory.

I meant party size, though if you are willing to book two rooms that makes it easier on finding something to accommodate your party size, but harder in the sense that you would need two rooms in the same resort (presumably) to open up. It does happen, and with some frequency, you just need to be online, ready to grab the room(s), when that happens, hence my original suggestion of checking as often as you can. It's a lot of work, but it can pay off.

Thank you both for your suggestions and explanation. When my son asked to bring a friend it seemed like an easy thing to do, but reality has proven much harder in a pandemic world (I had 4 adults on the task for adding HS park hoppers--with success) . I do have two rooms at the Swan as a back up.

Yes, inventory has been very limited for June. Pre-covid, we typically went multiple times a year and I have never seen anything like this. I was finally able to find some availability at the villas, but I had to cobble a stay together.

The Swan is really lovely and, typically, comes in at a lower price point than the WDW villas and deluxes. I think that's an excellent back-up plan. If interested, you can even call Swan/Dolphin directly to see if they can put a suite together for you so you can have some extra space. We once booked a suite at the Dolphin that consisted of a king room, a double room, three full bathrooms and a large living room connecting the bedrooms - it was less than a standard deluxe WDW room.

Wow! Thanks for the idea, connecting the Swan rooms sounds great! We actually have a king and queen booked at the Swan so maybe this is a possibility.
