It really depends on how much you will use them? One year we got coffee every morning and a drink or 2 during the afternoon, so that year it was worth it but it comes with the dining plan, so it wasn't an added expense for us.

You need a third option...sometimes.

At the value resorts, we did use them enough for cofee because we had little choice.

At the mods, it just wasn't worth the hassle. We tend to use them for coffee at breakfast. That means either of walking around with a mug all day or going all the way to the room to drop them off/pick them up. Neither is worth the hassle. I understand some mods have now added drink stations in their pools, so this may no longer be relevant, but we found other thean the first day, the only time we used them was for the pool. Even then, the drink station was far from the pool.

At deluxes, the distances may be a bit shorter, so it may be worth using them at the pool.

For us, I think I'm done with them. I have no problem with sharing drinks...but after three days of just being handwashed...yuck! Once we are home, we do use them as travel mugs, but I strongly prefer ceramic mugs when I'm able.

for us it is very worth it. I get at least 2 cups of coffee in the mornings plus take a soda with me to the parks. Then get more soda when we come back to the hotel to swim or whatnot and then again right before they close. I do make sure to be in a location very near the refill stations though.

Yes, they're worth it for us. Coffee in the morning, at least 2 refills during the day. That's a good $6 per day, so if we stay for 2+ days (and we usually go for 7) it's worth it. That, and I collect them and I get my daily dose of Disney with my decaf every morning. (Holy alliteration!)

I voted NO ...but I would have voted "other" if that was an option. I don't think they're worth it....but I buy 2 every year anyway :rotfl2: We use them all year so they are more of a suvenier than anything. We get the dining plan and don't return to the resort during the day. So for us, they're a waste during our trip. We fill them up in the evening but that's it.

If you are not on the dining plan and return to the resort for an afternoon break, I think they would be worth it.

I just returned from WDW yesterday. I went with my DBF and we had the QS Dining plan, we got our mugs for free, and to be honest, paying for them would not have been worth it for us. We filled them up once every morning for tea/coffee...but since we were on the QS Dining Plan, we got drinks with all of our meals (we just picked up water bottles for breakfast) but really, to fill it up for coffee once every morning wasn't really worth it.
We didn't fill them up at night because our room was WAY in the 90's building at Pop Century, so we were too lazy to walk all the way to Everything Pop to fill them up

So for us, no it would not have been worth it for us to have purchased the mugs.

they were for us. We stayed at POP for 6 days and tow of us took the mugs and filled them every morning with coffee/hot chocolate and brought them back to the room to eat with our breakfast (brought food from home). In the evenings, we had a soda/powerade/hot chocolate relaxation time. We did drink more liquids than we usually do at home, but if we were paying for those liquids at Disney we definitely got our money's worth. I also figure if I bought a plastic mug as a souvenir at Disney it would probably cost at least $8.95. Since I use it to bring tea to work and remind me of Disney every day, I only figure a few dollars as the cost of putting the drinks in the mugs while we're there.

I voted yes, because we fly in and are unable to bring drinks with us. I NEED my diet coke first thing in the a.m. (like most people need coffee). We always stay about 8 days so if I take the cost of the mug and divide it by 8, it comes up to less than $2 a day for the mug and drinks. I use the mug at home too! Well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

I answered no, because i am never at the resort. When i do come in late, my room is usually pretty far, and i dont want to double back just to fill my mug so I usually bring the crystal light drink packets. I could see where it would be great for families though.

No fighting allowed, well thats no fun! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I voted YES
*Our trips are generally 10 days..so its cost effective getting even a coffee each day.
* The DH will not drink the water :lmao: (won't even brush his teeth with it) so I ship H2o and he gets Iced Tea or lemonade.
*The food court area at POR is not to be missed, we Love it, so we use it each day in morning and besides the coffee, I often fill it up with ice/d tea and throw it in my backpack.
*Okay, I admit it, I have tons of them from all our trips and if you look below you'll see many different years....so, I just Have to get one;)

I think that where you stay, what you like to drink and how often you'd use it should be considered! Have a good time and good luck deciding! :wizard:

Family of 6, stay of 10 to 14 days, it is defenetly worth it for us..

Morning coffee/Hot chocolate, daily soda, and evening tea... that would be at least $60 a day in consumption for the family, or $600 for a 10 day stay.

I said yes, but that is because I always need to have something to drink with me at all times (water, tea, coffee). Even when I don't have breakfast at the resort, I usually stop in fill my mug and grab something that is easy to munch on during the day, like a plain bagel.

They are not worth it for me. I drink too much to even consider going back and forth to a refill station and I don't want to carry an empty mug around the parks with me. It's much easier to get a 2 liter bottle of soda at the store. The gift shops sell larger bottles as does the Hess Stations by the Boardwalk & DTD.

I voted no. We don't spend time at the resort usually so it would pretty much be a waste for us. If we spent a lot of time at the resort, then absolutely since we all love different soft drinks.

I agree with you Christine. I don't want to go back and forth to the refill station. That's why I just bring cases of soda with us and also a case of water. After walking in the park all day the last thing I want to do is walk down there to get some soda. But if your flying down and not renting a car it would be a good deal.

It really does depend on the length of the stay, but for Betsy and I, yes it was worth it. Every nite we would go back to the room, grab the cups, and head to the hotel rest. for a quick snack and drink, so for 6 nights, a $24 purchase gave us 2 sets of unlimited sodas.

They are for us. We buy 1 and Dh uses it in the am for coffe. I clean it and use it for frozen cokes by the pool in the afternoon. (We stay often at Pop.) On a 10 day trip it more than pays for itself!

I voted yes. i have gotten them and not. When I am near the food court or refill station it is great. This summer, i am planning to buy 1 for the 15 year old. Drinks for by the pool and coffee for 1 in the am and then we have a mug to split water or drinks during the day in the parks, We are going in July,

I voted yes even though we don't spend much time at the resorts.

In the morning my wife will take the first shower, so I run down to the refill station and drink one down, refill it and refill hers.

I used to smoke, and our first few trips you could smoke while walking the paths so it also gave me a chance to hammer another coffin nail down while going to get drinks. BTW, been smoke free 4.5 years... But as a former smoker, I notice that the smoking areas are usually near an entrance to the dining areas, so if you smoke you can also chain drink soda or coffee.

We do not bring them to the parks, instead we re-use water bottles and use crystal light flavor packets.

We get back and usually eat a small snack. She will get in line and get our food and i run back to the room and get our mugs. We usually have a few mugs a piece.

So we get our value out of the mugs. And we now have a nice collection since we buy a new one each trip.
