Would they really put people on a Savannah with no animals that paid for a Savannah view? Doesn't seem right.

I think Disney will try to put you in a savannah room with a view of animals but also telling you that between dates no animals on this trail. Try asking for the Zebra Trail.

well DVC is only going to charge you for standard - if you get one of those rooms.

would say AKL is going to do the same.

Don't feel bad... In a one week trip we had with a savanah view we saw a total of 2 animals from our room... and both times the animals seems pretty dedicated to going somewhere else....I think we would have had less dissappointed kids if we had been told not to expect any animal... at least no one would have expect them then.

Right now I believe AKL is considering the rooms on the Sunset Savannah as standard rooms, so if you booked a Savannah view, you will in all likelyhood, be on one of the other savannahs.

I was there 2 weeks ago, we saw giraffes, zebras, ostridge (spelling?), animal with horns (not sure what it was called). The view is not pretty, you are facing the DVC construction.

That's the Sunset savanna. We got a room on that side of the resort and asked to move the next day. It was really bad; no animals and all the contruction noise you could handle beginning at 7am.

We returned on July 4th. We were on the Kudu trail, but not facing the Sunset Savannah. However, when walking to the elevator, looking out the windows in the hallway, we saw loads of animals on the Sunset savannah.

As other's have said, the rooms on the Sunset Savannah are considered standard right now. Even though there are lots of animals.
The view is not too nice though. The Kidani construction is right there. The construction doesn't seem to bother the animals.

Although we were not facing the Sunset savannah.. we could hear the construction, only a little. But the rooms facing the savannah must have had a lot of noise!

Kudu Trail side... if you look at a map it was on the first nub on the backside... I don't recall the exact room number but on the map it was on the nub that has 3251-3285.... before you take that room think hard about a parking lot view... you would likely see just as many animals as we did and pay less.
