Is this correct? I'm asking because although we can purchase "tickets" from various military bases, we can only activate them at WDW. Therefore we can't link them to My Disney Experience until they're active.

Anyone have any experience with this?

You can link them to MDE and make FP+ in advance. 30 days out if you're staying off site or 60 days if on. If you have a smartphone you can just scan the code on the back of the vouchers. If not, you can manually enter the code on a computer. When you get there and activate the tickets everything *should* transfer over. I know several people who have done it without a problem over the last month or so, and I personally had no problem linking the tickets and making FP+ choices at 60 days.

Thank you! I looked at our last set of military tickets and there was not a barcode or any type of number on them. So that's why I was concerned. I'm purchasing this year's tickets tomorrow so hopefully they'll have a number of some sort on them.

yes you will find a number on them on the back lower left side, it's small , but there, always has been.

Ours was closed today y due to a snow day. Dh is going tomorrow to buy ours. I *think* I remember the last time I went for tickets to the zoo we were talking about WDW and I remember her saying they have to order them. Which has me nervous now, because I window to book FP is Friday. I am afraid we won't have tickets in hand tomorrow.

DH went to the local base to purchase a military ticket to take my sister to Disney in March. We purchased her a 1 day park hopper, and received a plastic ticket. I was so shocked. I was able to connect it to our resort reservation and magic band. We never had to activate the card, and did not have to even scan the ticket ever.

The previous time we purchased our tickets from base, was June 2013, we received vouchers that needed to be activated at the park.

Just a side note, I just also made a large order through the Disney Youth program to take my students to Epcot for their end of the year trip, and I received all plastic cards. Last Year, we received paper ones that were printed at the park. :teacher:

I'm wondering if Disney is switching to ALL plastic tickets. :confused3

that is because you just got a regular ticket with a teeny tiny discount( and no tax). anyone may use these tickets

the vouchers are for the Salute to Heroes tickets. only the Servicemember and their family can use this version.

That would be awesome! I purchased our vouchers in March and they are the stiff paper vouchers. We will still have to activate them when we get there in June. But if they are moving to plastic tickets that don't have to be activated I would do a little happy dance! It's just one less thing to worry about. :)

We hit our 30 day mark Thursday and now I'm all geared up to make out advance FP+ reservations. Hopefully our base have tickets in stock tomorrow. *fingers crossed*

That's odd that vouchers are only for the Armed Forces Salute. Last Year we purchased 1 day park hoppers, and still received vouchers. :confused3

It would make the lines at the TTC much shorter if they would switch to the cards. I couldn't believe last year when I had to wait for 115 paper tickets to print, before I could let 95 students into AK.
