Oh wow, was not aware of that. And we're staying at the Swan and Dolphin, too! What a bummer.People that had the 60+10 advantage due to being a resort guest were able to book a while ago so that's most likely why there's not a lot of availability.
Yeah, so people that are checking in 10 days before 12/31 had an advantage over those checking in later. Plus Epcot on NYE is one of THE busiest places to be on that day.Oh wow, was not aware of that. And we're staying at the Swan and Dolphin, too! What a bummer.
It was the same for me yesterday morning. Keep checking though, some will show back up. (Or at least I hope).
Yeah, kicking myself since I'm usually on top of these things, set a reminder to wakeup early, etc. This is the first I have heard of the 70 day advantage - does that apply to Swolphin?Yeah, so people that are checking in 10 days before 12/31 had an advantage over those checking in later. It's not a "70 day advantage" - it's that 60 days prior to your check in date you can make dining reservations for your entire vacation, up to 10 days in length. It does apply to Swan/Dolphin.Yeah, kicking myself since I'm usually on top of these things, set a reminder to wakeup early, etc. This is the first I have heard of the 70 day advantage - does that apply to Swolphin?
Also, since we're discussing NYE tactics, would it make sense to hit Epcot in the morning and park hop to HS later that day to avoid the evening crowd at Epcot?
Yeah this is what I meant. Sorry if I was unclear. People checking in at the beginning of the Christmas holidays have the advantage of booking for NYE.It's not a "70 day advantage" - it's that 60 days prior to your check in date you can make dining reservations for your entire vacation, up to 10 days in length. This is one of if not the busiest times of year and many visitors are staying for the whole week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Also, in many cases Disney is simply not doing timely releases of dining reservations.

To be clear, S/D users do get 60+10 privileges tooOh wow, was not aware of that. And we're staying at the Swan and Dolphin, too! What a bummer.
I am in the exactly same situation. I was surprised there was not one single reservation available at Epcot on NYE which has the most restaurants. Was up at 5:45am and there was absolutely nothing available. What gives? Today is 60 days out.
You hit the jackpot at least getting something for now! All this is not helping me overcome my obsessive compulsive disorder! Haha!Same boat for me… got a dinner yesterday (not what I wanted, but something) and a lunch today (again, not my first pick). I will obsessively check daily in hopes of better.
IF that returns (big IF on purpose)More stuff will open up; some special (i.e. expensive) options will be offered, and they have a whole banquet hall in the World Showplace where they host an NYE dinner.
