No AAA at ASMO for May 2007?

I posted this in the "Codes & Rates" board, but wanted to get some opinions here, too.

We'll be renting points to stay 5 nts. at VWL, then on to ASMO for 2 nts., May 13-20, 2007. I called today to ask about AAA rates for ASMO and was told there weren't any for my dates. They have them for POP, ASSp and ASMu, but not Movies. I asked if that meant they expect it to be crowded and she said that might be the case. I inquired about any large groups who may be booked there during that time and she said she didn't have any info on that.

So, any thoughts on what's going on ?

I got an AAA rate for preferred room for Movies. I was told there were none for a regular room. But then again, I was told it was the same for Sports during our visit, but maybe that was wrong.

Maybe our dates are quite different? Just in case it was the CM making a mistake, I called back. This time, I was told they didn't see any AAA discounts at any Values. For $28 a night more, we could get the AAA discount and stay at a MOD....but, honestly, I think DS and DH would rather stay at ASMO!!!

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the ASMO is the most popular of the Allstar resorts and the discounted rooms go very fast.

Our dates are early March. ASMU was sold out, except for the suites. At ASSP and ASMO the CM told me they weren't offering AAA discounts except for preferred rooms. At POP, there were AAA discounts for both standard and preferred rooms. I called soon after they opened today (about 4:20 am, our time) so I don't think the AAA discounts were gone, I think they just aren't offering them during busy times. But it kinda doesn't make sense, since now I have a pref room at Movies for $8 less than a standard room. So maybe they were already taken, but the CM didn't think so. I was able to get the rest of our stay (at AKL and Poly) on AAA discount with no problem.

Curious...I hope it is not such a busy time since what we really are hoping for are AP discounts.
