No 2017 yet??

They seriously still don't have rates and reservations available for 2017 yet. UGH! They expect people to put in so much time and effort and pre-planning for a vacation, yet can't even follow the industry standard of hotel rooms being available 12 months out. We are now at six months until 2017. ARGH!

It was towards the end of June before prices were released last year.

Quoting myself from elsewhere, last year, they announced 2016 rates and opened the website June 22.
In 2015, they announced rates and opened the website July 30.

So based on the prior two years alone, they are not behind their usual schedule. The earliest they've released them in years was in 2011, when they released June 11. There is a list of release dates here: http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/

It is June 2. Based on the last 5 years, it is still quite early.

Actually, WDW does better than the standard 12 months out. Once the release 2017, which should be this month, you will know the rates for the next 18 months. And you can actually book a room only via phone up to 499 days out. That's unheard of usually.

How can you book a room more than six months out right now? If I call will they be able to give me accurate pricing for a vacation the last week of January or first week of February 2017? (Because clearly I'm not going to make vacation decisions without accurate pricing info)

You will have to put down a deposit of 1 night at the highest rate from this year. Then when the rates are released for 2017, your remaining balance will be known.

Thanks for the info.
Since I need to know the rates in order to decide on a hotel, dates, and length of stay, that's not really a useful option for us. But hopefully some other people can use that information if they aren't concerned with cost.

I have always been able to come pretty close to the rack rate for the next year by adding 12% to the current year's rack rates.
