We have been to Disney twice before but always in the off-season. This year, we're planning a trip between Christmas and New Year's. In trying to find a one day car rental, Alamo and National have nothing available Dec. 27th. I thought that was odd, not even a luxury car or large SUV was available, not a single car showing, so I played around with the dates. It appears there is a minimum of a 4 day rental - all kinds of cars available for 4 days or more, nothing showing for 3 days or less.
Has anyone encountered this before? I was aware that hotels impose minimum stays, but haven't encountered it with car rentals. I really don't want to keep it for 4 days as we are staying at the Swan and would have to pay a parking fee. I also looked at renting from Hertz at Bonnet Creek and it is ~$150 for a standard, more than double what I've ever paid for a 1 day rental. Any other budget-friendly suggestions? We are a family of 5.
