1000 days divided by 26 years is 38.5 days a year average........
I am jealous
I bought my 5er used for 10,000 x 6% sales tax = 10600 + 200 license registration comes to 10800 out the door
I have owned it for 6 years x 200 for ins= 1200 for the priviledge of owning her...
I work full time and so does the better half= 10 vacation days a year for a total of 60 days for the 6 year example..
You must factor in the difference for your tow vehicle....remember you would prolly use a minivan to your destination instead of a truck...my truck new $35,000 - $20,000 minivan = $ 15,000 TV expense
So I am looking at 12,000 TT cost + $15,000 TV = $27,000 Life style choice
Divide that by 60 = $ 450 per nite
at 6 years (I did not factor in any maintainence or storage expense
)
There is no economic value to rving after looking at the big picture....strictly a Lifestyle thing ....sometimes more for some and less for others....Of course the RV sales man will tell ya different..........

He actually uses it more than we do. So while the kids get to a point where they go away from it for a while, I think as they age they will come back around to appreciating the RV experience. Well...okay..maybe not my daughter..she's definetly more the "Beach Club" type.
Maybe he'll change his mind once he has rugrats of his own?
