This is my first trip report. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cast of Characters:

Me - Nluvwithdisney - Age 29
Her - Wife - Age 31

Dates: November 2 - 11, 2001

Friday, November 2 begins early - 3:00 AM to be exact. Our limo was coming at 4:30 to get us to the airport. The limo driver shows up right on time and so begins the trip that I have been planning for the last 12 months with all of your help.

We arrived at Chicago's O'Hare Airport at 5:10 AM for our departing flight out at 7:06AM. Hmmm, security wasn't exactly what I had pictured, but maybe because it's so early it doesn't take as long. Checkin lines at the ticketing agents took about 20 minutes. Onward to the next checkpoint.

I thought they would check our ID's against our tickets here but they see two persons with individual tickets and send us through. Our carryon luggage is OK. We arrive at the gate an hour before departure. Our flight left on time and with no problems. We arrive in Orlando around 10:45 AM and proceed to baggage claim and National Rental Car.

There were barely any vehicles on the EA. There were 3 to be exact. I was hoping for something better but I didn't feel like waiting around. We chose a Buick Century and proceeded to the Dolphin.

I personally loved this hotel. The lobby and guest services is fantastic. Check-in took 5 minutes, and being a Starwood member our room was ready upon our arrival. We had a lake view with the AP rate. We were on the 10th floor of the west wing with a view of the beach and the Tower of Terror but we didn't have a balcony, but we enjoyed the view anyway.

As is our custom, we always do EPCOT as the first park. We hopped on the boat to EPCOT. Did I tell you I really love the Dolphin? It is such a soothing ride from the Dolphin to the International Gateway. The sky was overcast but we thought nothing of it because it was in the low 80's. As soon as we got through the gate it started to sprinkle. As we made our way to Future World, the rain strengthened. We duck into O! Canada to escape the downpour. Forgive us for not liking World Showcase. It's just not for us. By the time we finished Canada the rain had stopped and the sun was shining.

Since we had not ever done Test Track, we make it a priority. The line was 10 minutes tops. I really liked this ride. Especially when you're doing the break check and the open road.

By this time we are extremely hungry, so I grab one of the infamous Turkey Legs. It's a good thing that we did not get two of these. We could barely finish one. For dessert we had the Mickey ice cream bar. We proceed see some other attractions in EPCOT until it starts to pour again. We decided to rest up a bit at the hotel for about an hour and then come back and finish Future World. We have seen a number of attractions already, and it's only 4PM.

We come back to the park around 5:30 to finish up and to do Test Track again.

EPCOT is not crowded at all as so we found for the rest of our stay.

We decided to go to Planet Hollywood for dinner at PI. I almost forgot to show my AP. It got us a 10% discount on our meal. We ordered the Buffalo wings as an appetizer and we split a Burger since we were't starving.

After dinner we feel like dancing and go to Pleasure Island. Our first stop there is the BET Soundstage. We party until 1AM there and continue to 8 TRAXX. It is way to crowded this evening to dance there. We stop by the new club we had not been to "Motion". They were playing 80's Underground Music on Friday evenings. Not quite what we listen to. 5 minutes and we're outta there. I did not cross this club off. Later in our trip we stop by during the week and have a great time with TOP 40 stuff.

It's about 1:30. It's time to go to sleep to prepare for our next adventure in MGM.

Hopefully I'll be able to prepare it soon.
