NJ Governor resigns over gay affair! (Picture of Accuser on Pg. 1)

CBS 3 news in Philadelphia is reporting that Gov. McGreevey is resigning over a sexual harrasment lawsuit being filed today in Trenton. Apparently McGreevey has admitted to having a relationship with the man filing this suit. Apparently, the man filing the suit worked for McGreevey as director of homeland security in New Jersey.

He's also resigning.

My wife is overjoyed. She can't stand McGreevey. Figures today is the day we took our office TV in for repair. Damn you TV/VCR combo! To compound the problem, the internet has been slow to report why.

Kudos to you Mr.MouseFan I think you're the first to report online why he resigned.

I don't know anything about him or this situation, but I just turned the press conference on and he flat out said, "I am gay".

I think the circumstances of the reason he cam out are stinky. But I find it admirable that he did it without trying to cover it up.

Yes he is married, his wife was there with him. He asked for her forgiveness.

I agree!! I don't like McGreevey, but I feel awful for his wife......how humiliating!

Apparently, McGreevey had an affair with Golan Cipel. Former director of Homeland security for the state of New Jersey. Cipel apparently tried to blackmail McGreevey for millions of dollars or he would file a sexual harassment suit. Needless to say, Cipel didn't get his money and will be filing suit tomorrow in Trenton.

He's got a wife, an ex-wife, and a baby daughter. I used to see that guy every single day running on the treadmill at Dillon Gym in Princeton. Wow. Golan Cipel was the Israeli guy who caused some controversy when he was named head of NJ homeland security, people were saying, shouldn't the homeland security head be a citizen of the homeland? I wonder how the affair tied into that appointment?

Ciplel was then appointed "Councelor to the Governor" with no specific duties after being director of homeland security.

Forgiveness Hell!!!

If I were his wife he wouldn't live till the end of the night. Coming out on national tv and resigning because of a gay affair. IMO that doesn't show a whole lot of respect for his wife. No respect at all. I hope he at least had a small shred of decency to tell her b4 the press conference.
