Day 3, Part 2

Since we are full from our breakfast, it is time to go back to Future World and see what we can accomplish – by the way – did I mention that it is HOT? Yup – this is Florida in late June – we should be somewhere around 95 degrees today with about 150% humidity! When we left our room this morning we all took a cold water bottle (I found these insulated covers at WalMart that clip onto your backpack, fanny pack or belt) – in addition to the cold bottles, I had four more in the backpack – we’re set for an hour or two in this heat. :-)

DD’s head to Mission Space for Fast Passes – DH and I chicken out. The wait isn’t too long, so we stroll through some shops and then the girls head off to MS. I take our park passes and head to Test Track to get FP’s for all of us. DH is parked under a tree – its safer that way – believe me! The girls come back shortly after I get the Test Track FP’s (for a couple hours from now), but DD2 backed out at the last minute. DD1 said the ride was cool and would do it again in a minute.

We then head for the Universe of Energy and help Ellen learn about energy via Jeopardy. We are now sufficiently cooled off and begin to hit the other rides in this area. Finally it is time for Test Track. This is a very cool ride, but I don’t think I would stand in line for 45 minutes or more to ride it. DH and DD2 go in the car in front of us. It was fun to listen to DD2 scream and laugh almost at the same time. After Test Track we headed for Spaceship Earth. Again, this was a very short wait. We grab some ice cream and check out some shops. DD2 has been saving her allowance for almost a year (as well as birthday money, report card money, etc.) so she has over $200.00 to spend. I love the fact that if she wants something it is coming out of HER money and not mine. DD2 wanders into a shop with DD1 and comes out with a I LOVE MOM keychain – what a kid!

DH has been doing fairly well with the scooter, but as the park got more and more conjested -- his nerves were beginning to get frayed. It simply amazes me that people just STOP at will. One woman walked right into his scooter -- while he was at a full stop and then gave him a dirty look and told her husband that he ran into her.

It is now about 4:00 p.m. We are hot, tired and a little hungry. We head for the bus stop and wait for the bus back to the AKL. The rest of the evening is very uneventful. We had planed to go into the pool, but when we return to the resort, the pool is closed due to lightening and rain. We go to Mara and order a pizza to eat in our room. There is not much selection as far as food goes – maybe because it is so late in the day. One and a half of the refrigerator units that keep milk, salads, etc. is totally empty. We wait for our pizza and return to the room before the sky opens up.

The pizza was tasteless. Absolutely tasteless. But we ate it because we were hungry and didn’t feel like moving. It was raining and DH was having problems with his back so he took a pain pill and laid down. DD2 and I headed down to the gift shop to check things out – there was a pin she saw that she wanted and I needed to pick up some gifts for those we left at home. We watched some t.v. and went to sleep early.

Tomorrow is Monday and we plan to tackle the Animal Kingdom!
