Nitpicky VWL Room Question

I was just looking at the map showing all the rooms at VWL. Rooms 2519 and 2528 caught my attention because their shape is very unusual. (Based on the map, it sounds like the ones directly above these rooms on the third and fourth floors are the same.) I was just curious: For those who have been in these rooms, is there anything notable about them? For example, are they larger? Are there more or fewer balconies than on a typical room? I will never request specific rooms when booking, but I was wondering whether these rooms are better than, worse than, or the same as the other two-bedroom units.

I have stayed in Villa 3528 and loved it. The Villa was a two-bedroom dedicated. The kitchen is a galley style instead of the U shape in the other units. The living room is gigantic with a full Dinning Room and table for six. If I remember correctly only the Living room has a balcony. This villa had at lest 20% more floor space.

Very interesting. It sounds like those are really nice units.

Actually, now that I think about it, if you look at the VWL photo in my sig, one set of the rooms I asked about must be Floors 2, 3, and 4 in the only visible stone-looking portion of the building, right? I can see what you mean about one balcony. The balconies to the left and right would belong to the adjacent rooms.

Anyway, thanks for the info. It'll be quite a while before I stay in a two-bedroom unit (studios and one bedrooms are usually best suited for my needs), but when I do, it will be interesting to see what I get.

This is very interesting.....these rooms would be great to get. I just recently found out that there are some larger-type rooms at BWV as well. They are 1 bedrooms. The OP (in the thread I saw this in) stayed in #2123 at BWV and stated it was a corner room and much larger than the average 1 bedroom at BWV. I read it on the "DVC pics" thread (it's neat to see pics of this room....looks very nice). It's post #153 by DisFlan :

The kitchen in this one doesn't look like the usual "U" shaped either. Wonder if the VWL room that you're referring to looks somewhat like this in shape ?

We've stayed in 4528, a dedicated 2 bedroom and thought it was great. Much better than the standard 2 bedroom. I'd say these extra large 2 bedroom villas have about the same square feet as the OKW 2 bedrooms. OKW has more kitchen counter space as well as more cabinet space though.

From the floor plan it looks like there are 6 of these - 2519, 3519, 4519 (one of these would be my first choice as they overlook the pool), 2528, 3528 and 4528. An additional benefit of these villas is they are very conveniently located near the elevator.

As for your statement that you "...will never request specific rooms when booking..." why not? We routiney ask for a specific villa at OKW and we've had it assigned to us on several ocassions. Cast members at the front desk have always been very helpful...they simply look to see if it's available and if it is they assign it. These 6 extra large villas have to be occupied by someone it might as well be by you and your family. Just be prepared and don't be too disappointed if they say "not available".

WOW the Villa over at BWV looks great.

But the one I stayed in at VWL is alot different when you walk in the Villa you would be looking into the doorway (entrance) of the kitchen one wall has the refrigerator stove and cabinets, across from it you have additional cabinets sink and dishwasher. (galley style) Over the sink is open to the living room with a counter on the living room side. The dinning room table is a long rectangle table with six chairs, in a large area next to the living room. (the size of the tables in the GV's)
