Are we being too ambitious?

We are now taking an extremely early flight the day before the cruise down and decided to stay at disney world (contempary resort) nite before cruise. :D And its and E - NITE! :hyper: I know we will be up early and flying but I bet we swim and relax in afternoon, and then just hit magic kingdom in evening and e-nite. :hyper:

What time should we head to the ship leaving wdw? we have a rental car? And are very familiar with road ways of orlando / wdw area.

Really depends on how early you want to be at the port. The port doesn't open until 10:30 and boarding won't begin until about 11:45 (from what I've read here), so figuring approx travel time of an hour, about 9:30 ish. That should put you somewhere at the front of the line.

It also depends on where you are flying FROM.
We are also flying down the day before, but we are from the West coast. Getting to the airport early, switching planes in Dallas, and getting into FL in the evening.

If you were not traveling all day and exausted, I would say go for it. I would have a plan of someone else driving you the next day and don't forget that wake up call!

Another alternative, something I did last time.
We flew in with extra time, but not really enough to enjoy a park.
So, we went to Downtown Disney. There is usually a lot of good music, casual to sit-down places to eat, and of course the shopping! "The World of Disney" is the largest Disney store in the world! Since you are staying on WSW property, you can hop on the bus right to DD.

Have a great trip!
