We are trying to decide between the Nissan Sentra 2.0 and the Altima 2.5S. The Altima is $2840 more than the Sentra. Is it worth the extra money? What do you love or hate about either car? What do you find that you could or couldn't live without?

I had an Altima for 3 years, and my mom had the Altima model previous to mine. We loved them. I'm actually driving the Nissan Quest (minivan) now, which is like an Altima on steriods. Love it!

Since there's THAT small of a price difference, go with the Altima. You'll be really happy with it. :thumbsup2

*And yes, this is coming from Ms. Frugal herself.

If you can swing it, go with the Altima. My DH drives the Sentra to work. It gets great mileage, but we feel very cramped when all four of us are in it for any length of time.

for the price difference, i'd do the Altima. I had a 99 altima, have an 05 Quest, and almost got an 09 Sentra to repalce the altima, but got a great used deal on a Hatchback Mazda3.

The altima is more roomy overall and feels better in handling and power plus interior. the DOWNSIDE is the gas mileage is better on the Sentra, but for the difference, Its not as warranted.

i'd take the Altima in a heartbeat, and would have wanted one, but the price was higher than I wanted to buy the Sentra/Mazda for.

Thanks for the replies. DH and I are going back in to test drive it one more time tomorrow and maybe buy it.:cool1:

I like the extra space in the Altima. There is an especially noticeable difference for tall people in there two.

Altimas handle really well. We had a 98 one for awhile. It handled almost as well as my Neon does. I loved it and wanted a newer model one for long time but now I'm planning to go with a Ford(employee discount hehe) probably a Fusion but think about the Taurus that coming out as all electric. I wouldn't mind a mustang but cost would more so probably isn't happening. I need to save a good generous down payment first.

The new Sentra is huge. I love mind to death and consider it a mini Altima. The car is way bigger than my 93 Sentra.

Had a '93 Altima way back when. I really liked the car and the way it drove and it was pretty roomy. Now I'm a Toyota lover and wouldn't trade my Sienna minivan for anything.
