No, video game consoles are not exempt.

US Preorders do open tonignt - most places at 12 AM Eastern Time (I almost forgot that as I think of midnight as 12 no matter what). Good luck to those looking to score one!

How'd you do? I got in the Walmart queue and didn't snag one until 47 minutes later. Unlike Target & Best Buy, their site was solid as a rock - you just had to be patient.

I got a bundled one through Target and then sat on the Best Buy queue for a buddy to no success on my end but he got through around 1:10 AM EST for a bundle.

Target applied a $20 off circle coupon somehow, I’ll take the savings anywhere I can get with this!

Yeah, see, I tried Target and was even able to check out - but something was up with their site and it wasn't working. It even hit my credit card, but they declined the charge due to the suspicious activity coming off the Target servers. I honestly never could have believed it would take an hour or more, but all the info was saying to stick it out. Walmart never blinked from the moment I entered the queue - it just took a while. Good on them!

Got one last night in line at Best Buy. The Mario Kart World digital release for some reason was set to 12am PST for majority in the U.S. who got the bundle without a code.



My store had about 80 units for purchase beyond pre-orders (50 bundle version)

80 units? That's good. I hope a lot of people got one. Walmart delivered mine at 6:10 AM today. They even threw in a can of Pringles and a 20 oz. Coke - nice of them.

Unfortunately, I won't have time to mess with it until later as I am working today. I may get it hooked up and downloading over lunch, so I can enjoy it this evening.

At least everyone who had showed up by the time they did tickets for them got one. The Pro Controller sold out after the 30 or so Pre-Order folks and about 25 of the purchasers.

The first of the purchasers showed up around 3 or 4pm.

I did the transfer and initial set up after I got home and started downloading most things except Mario Kart as it kept giving me a “Not Yet Released” error. Started that download this morning so it will be ready when I get home.

Yeah, I was worried about my order. On Sunday my credit card flagged the pre-authorization as "fraud" and I was like, "Nuh-uh!" That seemed to be a Walmart issue and they assured me it would bo okay. It was.

I didn't get any accessories yet. I figure I will eventually. I don't want to do a system transfer, so I wonder how that will work? Nintendo can be kind of dumb about having accounts on multiple units.

Should just be a simple De-register from your currently used Switch to make the 2 your primary console. Unless the set up automatically defaults the 2 to your primary

No, see I don't want to deregister. I want my original to still be usable, and not just blanked out.

Deregistering doesn’t make it unusable or blank anything out.

Everything will remain as is on your existing switch, it just changes which console becomes your primary.

The primary console is more for digital games or anything with NSO. If you aren’t on a primary console Nintendo will do a check to see if you have access to it before it immediately launches.

Just an example (prior to the existence of GameShare via the 2): Say you have a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tied to your account, a friend comes over and you each wanted to play handheld and you have 2 Switch consoles, both are also tied to your Nintendo account. Mario Kart would only launch on 1 of those at any given time. The Primary console will immediately launch the game, the de-registered one will do a check first to ensure the primary isn’t using the game and then launch it.
