Does anyone have a nintendo ds or the ds lite if so which one is the best. Does anyone know if we bought one in Florida would we be able to use the games over here for it. basically are they universal? :confused3

just answered our own question. We couldn't buy one in Florida as the charger wouldn't be any good over here would it. I'm having a blonde moment ( i am blonde ) don't worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our chargers work in the US (or so I have found out; LOL), but I am not sure about the other way around.

I don't know which is the best, but if you ask me they are essentially the same..

We have just bought DD a DS Lite. The DS Lite is newer, smaller and lighter than the DS. All the DS games are fully compatible with the DS Lite, I am not sure if it will work the other way around.

If you are wanting a pink DS Lite they are not due for release until October!!!

I think the US DS lite has a 110v charger and you would have to get a uk charger like Tim did, apart from that its all ok. We are going to get the pink ds lites for Beth and Victoria' xmas pressies whilst we are away

With regards to the region of the games, do not worry. I have about 2-300 USA and JAP titles, and they all work on my UK DS Lite no problem.

we bought a DS lite a few weeks ago in Florida.. MUCH cheaper than here.

We charge it up on the shaving point in the bathroom! :)

Where's the cheapest place to buy them in Orlando?

Don't know if it's the cheapest, but we got ours from the Electric Boutique in the Florida Mall - probably woked out at about £15 cheaper than in the UK. Games though were much cheaper! Nintendogs was almost half the UK price!

On the Walmart webiste, the pink one is on pre-order for $129 - I think in the UK they are more like £100+, so some money to be saved. But as Tim says, the games seem to be $ for £, so quite a bit cheaper.

My brother bought a DS in the USA, and bought a transformer back home (£20). That allows him to use the USA charger here in the UK.

The DS Lite is marginally different to the DS, but I like my DS fine.

By the way - Virgin at DTD has a selection of games that are fairly cheap. Probably not as cheap as EB at Florida Mall (we went there too), but they had them as cheap as $15 at Virgin!

And the games are universal. Once you have a transformer, you're all set!! :goodvibes

If your after buying games rather than taking the dodgy route like me, you're probably going to be cheaper at SuperTarget or Walmart, or even ToysRUs over by the Florida Mall.

I have to say the Nintendo DS is brilliant. My DD (7) bought one in Florida with her spending money last October as she desperately wanted the Nintendo Dogs which she bought too. And a year on she still plays with it. She has made a list of games she wants to buy this October as they are so much cheaper in Florida than here. So money well spent I'd say. :cheer2:

Probably shouldn't confess to that Tron... ;)
