We go to Disney World at least once a year. I have days left on my 9 yo DD's PHP pass from a prior trip. It is a child's ticket. I need to buy her a couple more days for our upcoming trip in April. I usually buy 6 or 7 day PHPs just because in the long run they are more economical. With her birthday in October, she will likely be 10 years old (and an Adult in WDW's eyes) on our next trip.

If others have run into this, what have you done? After she turns 10, should I go to guest relations and ask to have the value transferred to an Adult ticket? Or what is the practice? I want to be honest and fair with WDW (as they have always been with me), but I also don't want to buy one day tickets that don't let us hop, etc.

What wisdom do you have to share?

Actually, they don't charge you any extra to upgrade it to an adult pass. You could keep the same ticket or upgrade it (at no charge) for an adult ticket when she turns 10.

Just go to any Guest Services desk/window....at a park or DTD...and they'll change the child's pass to an adult pass. They do expect the child to be with you when they do this.

We exchanged our DD's ticket which we bought when she was 8 for an adult ticket with no problem. It is my understanding that in order to do so, there have to be some days used on the pass. It was very easy to do. Universal DOES charge an upgrade fee however.
