I was on the same travel plan as Brisully for the HHB.

I arrived in WDW at 11:30am on the day of the HHB. I was greeted by my pre arranged driver and whisked away ( only had carry on) to my hotel. Checked in and registered for the HHB. I didn't experience any lines and everyone was very nice.

Amber : The CM who helped with my RSP pins took it very slowly so that I could look at what the person beside me got. I didn't order any sculptures or frame sets etc. but I still wanted to see them. There was no line so I don't think I took time away from anyone.
She had a love interest just 3 CM's down so of course I had to go on and on about that.

The Ball was wonderful and I had a great time....but then how could anyone have had a bad time with the company I was with??? Steve, Rebecca, Scott, Suzanne and a smatterin' of Leighton, Sorcerer, Sorcerer's Mom, and the fairies!!!

We must have approached everything backwards after the Tiki room talk. There was no line for anything. The fortune tellers were in their little tents with no one there. I think the Tiki room got out much earlier than the H of Presidents.
The CM's at the attractions were thrilled to see us and I have a nice keepsake of a Magical Moments certificate from the Splash Mountain photo crew.

I don't approach an event waiting to be entertained. I go with a positive attitude and look forward to laughing and riding with friends.

We left the event worn out and I was looking forward to sleeping. I had gotten up at 4:30am to catch my plane ( there is no such thing as a direct flight to ANYWHERE from Lexington, Ky.

I was whinning to Scott about having to get up and get out in the parks the next day for the 10 pins. Now, I chose to do this as holiday pins are my favorite pins in my collection. I was looking forward to the " hunt" but was afraid that I would not be able to accomplish my quest. Scott always teases me about finding COMPLETLE STRANGERS to tag with and I would do the same tomorrow. Preferably one with a car in order to get to AK and MGM faster. I scoffed at Scott and was aghast that he would say such a thing!

Thursday:
Wake up at 8am..shower...pack and out of the room by 8:30. Take my luggage to be put in storage and go upstairs to see if any pins are at the resort. Bingo!
Rabbit was here! I buy 2 and check the receipt:
Fantasia : 8:51am

I decided to walk to MK since the monorail goes all the way around and not straight to MK.

I see Jim, Jim, Jimmy Jim, Jim , Jim , Jim....( If you watched Muppet Treasure Island as many times as I did with my son....you would know what I am talking about)
I whine to him telling of my plight. I must get all the Halloween pins by 12:30 as I must leave for the airport at that time to catch my 2:00 flight.
Jim Jim Jimmy Jim , Jim , Jim Jim laughs at me and says " good luck".
I purchase Pooh at the Town Square Expo Hall
Receipt: 9:10

A COMPLETE STRANGER turns around in line after hearing me and says..." Hey, I am from Tampa , and I am doing this alone and have a car. I would love to have a buddy to run around the parks!"

Wahoo! Yippee Kai Yea!!! I have found a buddy!!!

We run over to Emporium Complex and stand in line for Minnie. The lines were not bad at all. I was maybe 3rd.

Receipt : Thank you for shopping at the Emporium
9:14

The Complete Stranger and I go to Epcot via monorail. I decide to introduce myself since we will be hanging together the whole morning. I meet a guy who is collecting pins for his grandaughters when they come to WDW so I pull out two DS pins and add them to the girls' collection.

Make it to the pin station: I was about 4th in line. I pay cash so I am pretty speedy. I ask no one in particular if there is another Halloween pin in Epcot and people answer no. I would have loved 2 more Eeyore pins but no, I am on a mission....

Pin Station receipt: Thank you!
9:59 EEEkkk!!!

I turn to the COMPLETE STRANGER and say, hey, let's check in Mousegears since we are here. We look behind the counter and lo and behold...Mickey!
No one is in line and I get my 2 lickity split.

Mouse Gear rcpt: 9:59 Have a nice day
Now, I know I was fast ....but how did I do that ????

We jump back on the Monorail and go to the Transportation and Ticket center. I suggest that we get my luggage out of hock and he can run up and get the Rabbit pin while parked in the front.
We get the car and do just that. I call my driver and tell him not to pick me up at the hotel but at Downtown Disney at 12:30.
The driver gets charged $9.00 to pick anyone up at the MK resorts so he didn't mind at all.

Okay...We have five pins now. I am happy and still pretty fiesty.
Off to Animal Kingdom. I feel this takes forever but it would have been worse if I had to depend on the busses.

Animal Kingdom...park...and get the tram.
Run into AK and someone tells us the Pluto pin is at the OUTPOST just outside the park. We run back outside and get in line. There is only one cashier when we get there and the line is all the way around the counter. Three more CM's come out and man the registers. A CM looks at me and says " may I check you out?" A man that was in line before me throws a big fit! I say...please...take this man ( who was on the other side of the circle) next. She would not do it and so I gave her my pins. He was waited on very shortly so I didn't get beaten up. Shew...that was close! The line was not bad at all and the temperature outside was very nice so there was no need for such a tantrum.

OUTPOST receipt : Kwaheri, Dhanyabaad, Thank you
11:28 OMG!!!!

Run back into AK, Annual Pass says the big red X. I didn't get my hand stamped and if you go back within 2 hours it denys it. CM was not happy with me.

Off to Island Mercantile...Yipppeeee No line. Where is everyone?

Receipt : Have a wild day!!
11:33

Leave AK....get my hand stamped ;)
Tram takes forever.

Off to MGM. I throw my pins in the COMPLETE STRANGERS car and away we go. I call my driver. " I might be a little late"

Park the car and make a run for the tram. Just missed it. We walk...no time to dilly dally now!

Get to Mickey's of Hollywood. Met another CM Amanda !
Receipt
12:13 not too much time now.

Off to the Hat!!! Gotta get Tigger and I will have done all that I could do.

TIGGER!!! complete
receipt: Have a nice day!
12:18
I did it....yippee....applause applause!!!

We walk to the car....shoot...we ran so fast to try to catch the tram ...we can't find the car! I am laughing pretty hard now. I can't even remember what the car looks like. This COMPLETE STRANGER thinks I have gone nutso.

Shew , after 5 rows ...we find the car...it's green :)
I call my driver and I meet him at McDonalds at DD at 12:35.
I did it....
I think I should get a Magical Moments certificate!

I get on the plane and play with my many pins all the way back to Lexington. I was seated in the middle of the Mississippi State Volleyball team ( some pretty tall women) and they had a "quiz" of 100 random lines from songs from the 70's 80's and 90's. Thank everything for Huey Lewis, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire, Beatles, and Elton John!!! The time flew and I was home handing out glow in the dark necklaces to all of our trick or treaters!!!

I pulled out my white chocolate skull candy from the event and it was a big white BLOB!!! Woops! Guess one cannot put things like that in a trunk of a car for 3 and a half hours!!!

I had a wonderful time and would not change a thing. Thanks to my COMPLETE STRANGER and all of my HHB buddies.

Susan

May all your pin quests be as fun as mine!!!

Now to get the Halloween Goofy and I will be complete.

SUSAN!!!

Thank you for your interesting, funny and POSITIVE post!! It sounds like you had a blast!!!

You hit it right on the nail...

I don't approach an event waiting to be entertained. I go with a positive attitude and look forward to laughing and riding with friends.

I think we should put that quote on a pin!!

:jester: :D :jester:

Great post Susan! I too did the chase. I started at 8:10am at the Cont and finished by 10:50am at Epcot. All by bus and boat. I did the Cont, MK, AK, MGM and Epcot. I got lucky on a few because a bus would be waiting when I got the the bus stop for the next park. My longest wait was getting from MGM to Epcot on the boat. Lost 30 mins there.

At the HHB, I met a CM from DL who had a WDW CM friend that was also at the HHB and gave us the locations of the pins for the next morning. So I had some insider info.

Wow T-Nut - great post. And I thought I did the whirlwind tour!!!!!

Gosh, Susan!

It was like being there with you....Yes! I'm actually feeling like I had a great time too! :p

I could even hear your Kentucky accent as you recounted your whirlwind pintour. ;)

Thanks for a great post! :D

Susan, I know I'd heard that "Jim, Jim Jimmy Jim, Jim, Jim Jim", somewhere before!
Wow, what a whirlwind trip. I'm tired just reading about your adventure.
It sounded like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing!

Why do you always end up roaming parking lots for someone elses car?

Next time this Fairy is going pin shoppin w/you!!! I'll bring Flora and Fauna with for the chase too. Will be looking out for strangers w/cars.
Sounds like you had a blast.

for your kind words.

Mario....WOW! You get my personal ( verbal/typed) Magical Moment certificate!! I just couldn't get out of bed before 8am.

KAP : What is it with me and parking lots????
I was laughing soooo hard when I read your post. I
forgot I had "history" with WDW parking lots. No mickey
antennae ball to help me this time ;).

Robyn: The southern drawl will captivate a STRANGER every time.
Geesh...I never knew I had a southern accent.

JamesD and BeautyLLM : I'll see YOU in December for some fun
and fellowship of our own!
Don't run with scissors ...or any other pointy object!

Flitter: You are always invited to go on a pin quest with me.
We may not get a lot of pins but the conversation will be
zesty.

Wnadering around the parking lot looking for your car. Now why does that sound familiar!! Maybe because I and a freind spent a good 20 minutes looking for my rental last June!! I even knew what row it was in! There were maybe 2 dozen cars left in that whole row and " I could swear it was not that far down." It was dark and the car was surrounded by minivans and since it was small I could not see it. Was ready to call security and report it stolen!

Great post Susan! Quite an Adventure!!!
