We are trying to figure out our last ADR for our trip in August. We have been to WDW every August for several years and always wind up at the same places(San Angel Inn, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's), so this year we're trying to add some new ones. Any advice about the Nine Dragons or one of the Japanese restaurants?
So far we have booked our old favorites of Boma, Kona Cafe, and Cyrstal Palace for breakfast. We are trying for the first time, Spoodles, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and we need one more....any suggestions would be greatly apprecitated!:smickey:

I know Nine Dragons is much maligned on this board, but my husband and I really enjoy it there. We go every year. LOVE their honey sesame chicken and the sha cha beef skewers (appetizer) are great as well. Yum, yum. We've always had good service and it's easy to get a reservation there, so in our opinion, it's great!

Our family loved nine dragon when we ate there. My DD12 is very picky and even she enjoyed it. Some of the best Chinese food I've had.:goodvibes

My DS (now 16) and I had dinner at Nine Dragons on our last trip and we loved it. Many people on these boards don't like Nine Dragons saying that their local Chinese food is better. My advice is not to order "regular" Chinese food. Nine Dragons has all the "regular" stuff, but also a lot of special meals that you won't find at your local restaurant. I had some kind of white fish with a delicious sauce. It was large and SOOOO good.

I would definitely recommend Nine Dragons!

We were just there in May and it was fine. The menu was very limited. The service was alright and the food tasty. Our very favorite meals this trip were at Ragland Road for fish and chips and the steak at Coral Reef. The service, in general, at all the restaurants, was very slow and inattentive. The food was not as spectacular as it was when we were there 3 years ago. I guess it's the dining plan to blame, from what I have read on the DIS. Actually, my very favorite meal was dogs at Casey's in the MK!

We didn't like it. We're very adventurous especially after our trip to China last fall. It's not on our list to revisit.

The entrees were good, please by all means avoid the drunken chicken. It sounded yummy, but lets just say it smelt like feet!! :confused3 Even worse dd spilt it on me so then I smelt like feet all night!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It's not that Nine Dragons is bad..... it's just that it's your standard Chinese food you can get anywhere. There are better options to be had, it's like going to Applebee's on your vacation, I like Applebee's it's just nothing special while you are on vacation. Try Japan since it will be freshly remodeled.

I like both Teppanyaki and Nine Dragons. Do note that Teppanyaki is down for refurb right now, not sure when it's supposed to be back.

Nine Dragons has a wide variety of Chinese fare. All portions are large. The pepper steak is tender and flavorful, and the honey sesame chicken is crispy and tangy-sweet. The hot and sour soup lives up to its name. Prices are reasonable, and every time we've been, it's uncrowded and quiet. We've always had a window table looking out over the lake at Epcot.

Teppanyaki dining room is entertaining with a variety of excellent steaks, chicken, and seafood (including sushi). The show is great with the chef, but unless you have a large party, you will be seated with other guests.

Both are excellent, but I would argue that either is comparable to a similar restaurant in any sizable city. Neither, IMO, screams Disney in the style of other restaurants (like Garden Grill, the plaza, etc.), but both still have the Disney customer service and quality.
