Nine Dragons?

We ate there about a year ago and weren't impressed. I'm not a very adventurous eater, so I go some type of fried rice dish. I thought is was very overpriced, but tasted ok. If I had been on the dining plan at the time, I would not have cared about the price. My DH once cooked at a local oriental restaurant, and he thought his food was horrible and overpriced also. We said that we should have just gotten the food at the CS restaurant next door.

We enjoyed it - but it tasted no better than a local chinese place. And it's pricey. But they offer large portions and we enjoyed everything we had. Good service, too.

Just like the Restaurants in Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Morocco and Japan its about the same as your local restaurant with that type of food. Don't know why everyone picks on Asian food in this forum but the above statement that seems to always be associated with Nine Dragons is true about all the other countries as well. Half of Disney is the atmosphere and all the Country Restaurants in Epcot including Nine Dragons have better atmosphere than most Restaurants you will have back home. If you don't really like a certain type of food than of course you won't be too thrilled with it.

I have to disagree with the comment about the portions. We couldn't believe how small the portions were. At our local chinese restaurants, we can get 2 dishes, a couple sides of rice, and an appetizer or two, and that is enough to feed our family of 2 adults and 4 kids. At Nine Dragons, the portions were much smaller than a typical chinese restaurant. Probably about half the size for twice the price.

With that said, we thought the food was all pretty good, just way overpriced for the amount of food you get.

We had dinner at Nine Dragons last year and it was the best meal of our trip. Yes, they have the typical Chinese food we are all familiar with. They also have specialy dishes like the white fish with a fabulous sauce that I had. It was absolutely delicious! Don't remember what my DS had but I know we left there very happy.
We will definitely be going back on our next trip.
