DSister and DHusband are planning to go to Nine Dragons for dinner tomorrow (last day before it closes for rehab). It will be their night out while I stay in the room with the kids. They really want Chinese. How is it? It doesn't have to be great, but it would be nice if it's at least decent.

Thanks!

We like it and try to eat there at once while in WDW. My parents went the other week and my mom could find the dish that she had gotten previously. She told the waitress what was in it and they cooked it special for her. She said it was really good.

That is one of my top 3 fav restaurants at Disney. LOVE their sesame chicken!!!!!! YUMMY!!! We'll be there in September and it'll be closed. :( I hope they enjoy their meals!!

I think it's good. I like it better then my local Chinese food, but it is more expensive.

I ate there for the first time May '07 and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was good and service was excellent. I had a very nice window table overlooking the lagoon. I also had the most wonderful waitor of that entire trip. I had ordered the spicest item on the menu and I had to keep reassuring him I was pleased with my choice. He kept offering to replace my meal, if I wasn't pleased with it. At the end of the meal, he brought me a bowl of ginger ice cream to "cool your mouth off, missy". He didn't even charge me for it. Throughout the meal he seemed so concerned that my dish might be too hot for me. He was so sweet and cute. It had started to rain while I was in there, they weren't busy, and after the meal, when I started to get up, he insisted I sit back down, enjoy the view, and wait until the rain stopped. That's when he brought the ice cream out to me.

This restaurant is the only one in all of Disney World I would never, ever, ever eat in again.

That being said, I'm a vegetarian, and they at least at the time I ate there, they had *nothing* vegetarian on the menu (what was labeled vegetarian was not in fact vegetarian - all items used chicken broth or fish paste as ingredients), and unlike other Disney restaurants that have always been quite happy to modify something to be vegetarian, or to make something not on the menu, they told me they could not accommodate "special" requests. When I didn't order anything, they finally said they'd bring me something, but it was a gross plate of slimy boiled vegetables that tasted disgusting.

That being said, the rest of my family were fine with it, and liked their food just fine. So if you don't have any special dietary requirements, you'll probably like it fine.

We went on our last trip in April. The food was good, service was fine. We laughed at ourselves throughout the whole meal while we tried to eat with chopsticks. We finally mastered it by the end and had to buy some for home use. My DD thinks we should have Chinese every week so we can get more practice. Try the red bean ice cream, very good.

So ... are they going??? All this talk about Chineese food, I want some!! Maybe for dinner tonight but it just won't be the same. ;)

nothing like eating Dinner in Disney.......even a hamburger tastes better while NOT AT HOME........Hope that your hubby and sister enjoy their meal there.....let us know what was served for their last days before rehab

We like 9D. Their food does taste good and fresh. And the service has always been good for us.
