I ate there solo in Dec and enjoyed it very much. I had a nice table right next to the window so I could people watch and look out over the lake. It was very solo friendly. I had a wonderful waiter who just kept checking back on me and never let my glass get below half full. I had asked him about the spiciest dish on their menu, he looked at me in surprise and asked if was sure, then pointed to the first entree on the menu. Shortly after he brought it he checked back with me and asked if I was sure it was OK and offered to bring me something else if I didn't like it. He seemed very concerned that it might be too spicey (I should have told him I'm from Texas and we love our food spicy). Anyway, it was some kind of savory beef in broth and was very good. It started raining pretty hard while I was in there so I just took my time and enjoyed the rain. When I finished I still had food left and without asking he brought me a to go box and said he would place my food in the box himself. He then brought me a bowl of ginger ice cream (again without me asking) saying he thought I might need it to cool my mouth off from all the spicy food. He did not charge me for the ice cream, by the way.
I have always avoided this restaraunt because of its' bad reviews, but decided to try it just so I could say I had eaten in every country in the WS. I am so glad I did and will definitely be back. It was a very pleasant surprise.
