My DH really wants to try this place on our trip in April, I have always been reluctant since the menu seemed like the usual chinese food. But I heard the refurb will include an open kitchen and so I'm hoping for a different menu too!

I'm glad you enjoyed it but I'm rather disappointed to hear that they serve fried rice and chicken balls and call it Chinese food. They aren't even trying to be authentic.

Let's be honest. What North Americans (myself included) want in "Chinese Food" is definitely not authentic. If you want authentic, try China, or at a minimum China Town in a large city.

The first post on this thread page is the sesame chicken. This is not exactly the same as the one I have in my Cooking with the Disney Chefs cookbook but the premise is the same and the honey sesame sauce is identical.

We have always loved this restraunt and can't wait to eat here when it re-opens. We are eating here in November during Free Dining. I can't wait!

When you say "chicken balls" do you mean low-quality chicken nuggets, or ground chicken meatballs? I am pretty sure you don't mean testicles.

I made my ressie's 2 weeks ago for Nov. 28th and got an awesome time. I think a lot of people don't know that it will be open and can make reservations already. HTH
