I have had my camera for about 2 years now. I have had a lot of time to grow & learn with this camera. And I still love it, several here on the photography board were a great bit of help when I was looking to purchase. Any way off topic, my question is about Picture control in the shooting menu. I pretty much keep it set on standard, & leave the default settings. But I tweak the sharpening to usually 5 or 6. The max setting is 9, but I've been afraid the max would be way over the top. Asking before I shot some trials, I know this can be completely up to the photographer & what they like. But wondering if you've come up with a happy medium. I guess mine would be in the 5-6 range, but I really haven't played around with any higher.

The Picture Controls only affect the JPG files. If you are shooting RAW, it won't matter. With that said, I sometimes want to use the JPG straight from the camera to share. I usually bump up the contrast and saturation a little bit, just for some pop to the photos. My sharpness is at 7. The D7000 benefits quite a bit from sharpening. But I probably wouldn't max it out, though. I don't have any samples, as most of mine are edited from RAW. And anything on facebook are nuked with their compression anyway.

Okay makes sense. Thanks!
