Okay so today I bought the Nikon D3100 from Bestbuy. I bought it with a bundle = extra lens, bag/hdmi cord/8gb sd card...
i charged the battery
and so thereforth i played around with it a little....
The Nikon D3100 has a guide which helps you navigate the camera for first time users so it told me how to take pictures with soft balance background. It shows you an example photo on the left as you lower the aperture which i think is cool. it also shows you examples of pictures of people/cars in motion etc. It's very easy for first time SLR owners.
Here's my first time with the soft balance. On the lowest aperture with the lens that came in the kit.
any tips on the nikon d3100 would be appreciated.... just bought the camera today.
here is another picture...but of my fish named figment.
Sadly I can not bring my D3100 to disney this year since it is brand spanking new. but I'll bring it next year.

Perhaps i can persuade her as days go on.
We take our cameras all the time on every ride! Yes, even the water rides. I recently purchased Pentax' top-of-the-line prosumer camera, the K-5 (which is weather sealed) and a weather resistant lens. Since this camera and lens were designed to be in inclement weather, I have an idea for a shot of the water coming over the bow of the log at Splash Mountain. In two weeks, the DW (she's a photographer also) and I will be bringing three DSLR's to the World. Can't wait to get there and try the new equipment, not only on the water rides, but also the dark rides. Try to convince your Mom to let you bring the camera. You will regret not bringing it. Good luck. This is the equipment we brought in June, 2010.
