I am currently staying at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird. As of today, this is no longer a Holiday Inn. The signs have been covered as has most other references to Holiday Inn. The new name is apparantly Home Suite Home. It has a big sign on 192 advertising rates of $149 a week. This is less than even the lowest priceline rate I have seen. We paid $33 via priceline. So if you have ressies with Nikki Bird, look for the Home Suite Home signs.

Thanks...we just stayed there May 9-16th and noticed that the Holiday Inn Website now does not allow reservations for that hotel. We enjoyed our stay there, hope you are having a good one too.... :sunny:

you know the Holiday Inn West - had signs up about condos - but I think the Holiday Inn sign was still up.

Usually, when a property drops a well-known chain affiliation and lowers rates, it's not a good sign.

I stayed there for 2 nights my last trip.
I had heard some horror stories, and I was concerned.
It came up on Priceline, so I had little choice.
BUT:
the room had been completely redecorated. The beds were covered with two top sheets encasing a light blanket which gave it a clean, duvet sort of feel.
The bathroom grout was fresh and clean.
THe coffee maker sucked. (It was like a one cup deal).
There was a fridge and a safe.

All in all, the room was better than most other 'motels' I've stayed in.

THere are lots of buildings and altho the desk clerk said ALL the rooms had been remodeled, rumors are that the ones in the very back are not.
Try to get a room facing inward toward the pools, as the outward facing rooms toward 192 are noisier.

The front desk personelle seemed disorganized at check in. I did't eat there, so I can't say anything about that.
I can say that it is by far , the closest hotel to Disney (MK or AK)without being on Disney property.

holiday Inn gave me 407-396-7300, but no answer. no one answered the phone!

I already made other arrangements for my daughter and her family. I am not taking any chances this will become an hourly rate hotel! I have Emailed Priceline and Holiday Inn and hope to get my money back. If they give me a hard time I think Amex will back me up!

Finally got through to that number. The rate are: 109.00 for 3 nights
149.00 7 nights and then 169.00 for two weeks. The only things that changed are the kids eat free program and maid only come once a week. The ytold me they stock you up with plenty of towels and toilet paper. All rooms are the same rate all year round. Kids Suite for same price too!

Sounds pretty good...too good to be true!

We stayed there on May 6th and then on May 15th-May19th

That hotel is going down the tubes. You will defintely get what you pay for with this hotel. Holiday Inn probably dropped it because it was turning in to a crappy hotel. Accross the street is a Knights Inn for $29.99 a WAY better deal.

Then again the in between days we were staying in a 2 BDR SSR room so well maybe that did taint my outlook just a tad. :rotfl2:

But seriously that hotel was in need of change of management and a cut in prices. I don't expect that hotel to be quality at all by next year. As stated above, It probably will be a by the hour hotel in a few months.
