Nighttime Entertainment in the Boardwalk Area

I've always heard people rave about the atmosphere and entertainment on the boardwalk in the evenings, but I've never been over there at night. We'll be staying at the Dolphin on our next trip, though, so I was wondering what it was all about. What exactly goes on, and during what time period?

There are entertainers out on the Boardwalk from about 7pm to 10pm. There are usually 2 out at a time, one in front of Flying Fish and the other in front of Screen Door. The entertainment varies from magician to juggles to sword swallowers. Although IMHO the quality of the entertainers had declined recently. They are still fun to watch. There are also a few carnival type games and surrey bikes to rent. There are food carts selling carnival-type foods, a pizza shop, ice cream and candy shop, and places for adult beverages. Have fun!

On our recent trip we saw jugglers and magicians almost every night - very enjoyable.
