So I am bringing my dbf to Disney for our first big vacation together just the 2 of us. :cool1: We will be there from September 25th-October 1st. We have been together 5 years (and will be celebrating our 5th anniversary while in WDW) and did a cruise that my parent's treated us to about 3 years ago but nothing just the two of us other than a few weekends to Atlantic City. We will also be celebrating my 25th birthday and his 31st birthday while there (yes, it all really does happen in a 2 week period...LOL!!) and he LOVES to go out and party. party: He really wanted to do Las Vegas but I talked him into Disney this time promising we would be able to go out and drink and have fun with other adults and it wasn't going to be all kiddos and my restaurant adventures.

So what I am asking for is suggestions and reccomendations. We have 3 nights at Pleasure Island planned, but what clubs are best? Just as an FYI he is not much of an Adventure Club/Tiki Room kind of guy, more typical bar and dance club with lots of people. :dancer: We also have 1 evening tentatively planned on the boardwalk but I am wondering which would be better/more active - Jelly Roll's or Atlantic Dance Hall? Also, any other suggestions for any good or popular bars or lounges at the nicer resorts?

Please - let me in on your secrets and tips! I want to make sure this trip goes off well so I can pave the way for lots of family trips 3 years from now when marriage and kids are in the picture :) Thanks everyone!

Although I go to PI once in a while, it's definitely Jellyrolls for me!! I have so much fun there. They guys who play piano are SO talented and it's such a fun evening - give it a shot.

Never been to the Atlantic Dance Hall so I can't comment on it.

There are also some Meets being planned for the time you are there - check out the DIS Meet board.

See ya there!!!

Head to Citywalk at Universal for a night. Margaritaville is awesome and you have to have a Hurricane at Pat O'Briens!

I'd second the motion to try one night over at Universal Citywalk, assuming you'll have a rental car. Parking is free after 6pm, not that you'd get there that early. The new Red Coconut is a great new martini bar; start there and then head to one or more of the clubs. The Groove is a dance club that can get pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights with mostly hip hop and some dance music (techno) thrown in. Just remember where you parked in the world's largest parking garage!

If you're daring hang out with the locals in downtown Orlando. Parking is a flat rate $5 in city garages. Orange Avenue, Church Street, Wall Street are filled with clubs and the streets are packed with partiers. This is best for a Friday or Saturday night too although the club called TABU has $10 all you can drink on Tuesday and Thursday nights. (www.tabunightclub.com) Paris Hilton has her Club Paris downtown; I also like Antigua and Chillers; the latter for frozen alcoholic slurpee-like libations.

Three nights at PI will be plenty. Mannequins is our favorite with all techno/trance and a revolving dance floor. Save that one for last because it tends to get crowded arond 11:30. Try 8TRAX for 70's disco and early 80's MTV hits, BET Soundstage for hiphop, Rock'n'Roll Beach Club for live and recorded rock music especially classic rock and Motion for current Top 40 and a variety of other songs and videos mixed in. Saturdays is the busiest night followed IMO by Friday, Thursday and Monday. Another nice advantage of PI is you can walk around from club to club with your drinks. You can't do that downtown.

Jelly Rolls can be hilarious and close to a religious experience when everyone sings together; Atlantic Dance is free so nothing to lose by checking it out.

I just got back from WDW. My bf and I went to PI. It was really slow. We went to the comedy club and had a blast. But we went to RNR beach club and nobody was there.

Is it dangerous for out of towers to go to downtown Orlando?

I want some "real" clubs and bars but being from the UK I don't really know what to expect... :confused3

Downtown Orlando is not dangerous. Stay in a group and ignore any derelicts begging for money. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights will be packed with partiers. There are dozens of nightclubs in downtown Orlando playing nearly every type of music you can think of. Some have cover charges and some do not. Most are along Orange Avenue but some are on the side streets off Orange Ave. such as Church Street, Wall Street and Central Blvd. Visit www.orlandocitybeat.com for reviewing some of the choices downtown.

If you have a car, park in the city-owned parking garage on Central Blvd. From the Disney area drive on eastbound I-4 (which is actually northbound) and pass the downtown area. Exit at State Road 50 (Colonial Drive) and turn right, go a couple blocks and then turn right and head back south on Orange Avenue/State Road 527. In a few blocks you'll begin to pass all the nightclubs. Turn right onto Central Blvd and then the parking garage will be on your right again. Parking is a flat rate of $5 in the evening. Some of my favorites include Tabu (Orange Ave), The Globe (Wall Street), and Antigua and Chillers (both on Church St.)

Best area by far for bars/clubs in Orlando is Church Street. Best ones there is Chillers (which is the bottom floor of a 3 story bar/club superplex). Get there on a Wednesday night, pay $5 at the door, and every single drink inside is one dollar... no matter what. Also Makos, Dragon Room, and Club Paris are good ones on this road. A block away is Tabu... not bad also. Go during the week though if at all possible, you will spend half what you would normally spend (for drinks and cover), and you won't be lost in a sea of people.
