Nightmare Before Christmas theme for our elves!! Help please!

I know it almost seems too early to start planning for our Christmas Elves to arrive, but this is most likely my last year of doing them where my son still believes :-(

My 15 year-old daughter has been enlisted to help me this year and she wants to do something that is Nightmare Before Christmas related. Our elves generally only come for a week or so, and the last few Christmases we have followed a storyline instead of just having them do random things. Two years ago we had an evil monkey show up who crossed off the kids names on their presents and stockings and wrote his name and did some other naughty things, and the elves were trying different things to catch him. It was lots of fun! Last year the elves made a Duplicator like the one in Calvin and Hobbes, and in the end they duplicated my son's favorite stuffed animal! It was waaayyy cool!!

So now I need your help!! I'm not as familiar with Nightmare and need some good ideas on storyline and decorations or props. Especially since I should be able to get them cheaply after Halloween!

no ideas, but for props and such you might want to check out walmart and the spirit Halloween stores (both available on line too)-they are both offering nice reductions on nightmare before...stuff in their clearance sections.
