I was at work today, and my fiancee had to stop by to pick something up that I had. He showed up with two presents for no reason : An autographed picture of Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd and the new collector's edition of Nightmare Before Christmas !!!

OOO !!! I'm stoked. What's even sweeter is he got me all of this stuff for NO reason. He is so awesome :) I have school today, but once I have free time I'm definitely going to watch the movie. I LOOOVE NBC! I'm so excited especially since I love Halloween, the movie, and we're going to DLR for MTOTP :)

UGH, HELLO?!?!?!

I DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT THIS?! & you post it on DISboards.. YOU'RE SO RUDE!

Where did he get the autograph?!
SO JEALOUS

Awwwwwwwwwww you guys are too cute!!!! I love it! :) You definitely got a good guy there! Enjoy it! :)

How exciting!!! I bet that just made your day!! I'm super excited for the decorations for HM to be done..I was just there on Wednesday and saw a glimpse of the decorations on the lawn and got super excited!! Enjoy the movie and be sure to write a movie review..ha ha. JK.

Hey Guys !!

I'm on my way to school soon, but I just finished watching NBC and all the extra goodies on the dvds. All I can say for now is AWESOMELY AMAZING !!! I will definitely give more info when I come home !!!

EDIT :

Alright !!! I'm home from school. I've already been talking to everyone about all of the cool bonus materials on the collector's addition, so here I am to talk about it with you. To be honest, I haven't watched EVERYTHING yet. But what I have watched, is pretty damn amazing :) To start off with, I watched the film, which is amazingly digitally re-mastered.

The first thing I watched when I got done with the film, I watched two separate sections of the HM tour. There is one of the whole tour, then one of how they decorated the place. It was great. They talked about the whole concept, how they went about taking an idea and putting it into the ride, and they also said that the gingerbread house on the table in the ballroom is different every year !!! I didn't know that !!! They also said that it is a real gingerbread house and that the confectionary workers at DL are the ones who create the beautiful piece !

Once I finished watching that, I watched the making of NBC. I didn't realize that Tim Burton was only 22 when they had done the film. Thats amazing. They said they did traditional frame by frame animation and that is 24 frames per second. That means that for 5 minutes of film, they did 7,200 frames. That is crazy business ! They are some talented guys. OOOh also some fun trivia, In Beetlejuice when Michael Keaton has the carousel on his head, there is a small figure of Jack Skellington in it. How cool is that ?

I'm not going to give away anymore goodies for those who are going to get the movie ! I hope you guys enjoy it ;)

We just got our BR copy and watched half of it yesterday. You can see every detail, every texture in the characters and scenery. Just amazing! Haven't gotten to the extras yet.

We bought it last weekend and in all of the chaos of getting ready to leave for DLR today we still haven't gotten any farther than taking the plastic off. Hopefully we (I) can watch in the car later today!

So cool....I'm seriously thinking about getting this. The Disney Movie Club has it this month with James & the Giant Peach...I don't have either on DVD so I'm really tempted......thanks for the review!

How funny! My fiancee did the same thing to me! While I was doing homework, he calls me and says, "I gotta pick up a few things, then I'll be right home." And usually that means groceries, so I didn't think anything of it. Then he comes home and I expect to help him put up groceries, but all he has is a bag with what looks like a DVD in it. I totally freaked out when I saw it was Nightmare Before Christmas. :lovestruc

I'm a huge Danny Elfman fan, but mostly because of this movie. So I went gaga over the commentaries. I was sad that there was no footage of Danny Elfman singing as Jack or working with the orchesta, but I was still happy nonetheless. I also loveloveLOVE stop-motion animation - I enjoyed doing it so much when I went to animation workshops. It's a shame studios don't use it more often!

This movie made me miss Disneyland soooo much. The first time I went to Disneyland was on my birthday and they just put up all the Halloween decor and I was literally jumping up and down in excitement because I didn't know it'd be decorated. And then I saw the Haunted Mansion (my favorite ride) with the NBC overlay and I totally flipped out and couldn't stop bouncing in line (I bounce a little when I'm excited) and clenching my fiancee's hand very tightly. And I excitedly told him about all the details in the ride and where they are in the movie - aghast that he did not know much about it, but nonetheless VERY willing to explain.

Mm, Disneyland was my most favorite part of living in California. I didn't care much though for living in the poor part of San Jose, though. =P

I didn't see this trivia...maybe I missed it? Or is this exclusive to Blue-Ray? Does the Blue-Ray have stuff the regular dvd doesn't?

I'm going to order this from Overstock. My son fell in love w/ NBC last year in DL. The Disney channel played it during the holiday season last year too. I was anticipating the release.

We haven't watched the movie yet (are going to this weekend) but we did watch the 2 tours of the HMH & I am so glad that we did! I was going to hold off until we got back from our DL vacation next month so as not to ruin the ride for us but I couldn't resist! lol There are so many cool little details.....things I might have otherwise missed. The gingerbread houses have been incredible so far & I can not wait to see the one that they create for this years HMH. I am so so excited!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I didn't get the blue-ray one. The trivia I saw was in the making of Nightmare Before Christmas =P , it wasn't necessarily 'trivia' it was just info they gave during that segment.

I live in San Jose !! I've lived on the good side and in the area of the bad side of town and it is a difference. Its getting a lot better though ! I love living in CA because its only a 45 min plane ride to Anaheim :) I'm so excited about my trip !!
