Nightly marshmallow roasts at POFQ

I read on the POFQ thread that the nightly marshmallow roasts are behind building 6. I'm not sure how we missed this fun activity on our last stay here. Since then we've stayed at AKL, and my girls loved roasting marshmallows there. We'll probably be back at POFQ on our next trip so I'm hoping we can find the marshmallow roast there.

Is it easy to spot?
What time (summer) do they typically roast the marshmallows?
Are we allowed to bring things to turn them into 'smores? (Never would have considered doing this, but we'll be driving this time) Even if we're allowed, would that be weird or frowned upon?

Thanks!

From what I remember it was.

From Andre's awesome website.

Campfire on de’ Bayou / Cajun Campfire

Enjoy stories and family sing-a-longs while making your own s’mores around an evening campfire. There are two campfire locations, Riverside’s “Campfire on de’ Bayou” is behind the Muddy Rivers pool bar on Ol’ Man Island, just next to the children’s playground while French Quarter’s “Cajun Campfire” overlooks the Sassagoula River from the courtyard just behind building 6. The events are free, and you’ll find plenty of marshmallows and sticks to roast them on. There also used to be optional s’mores kits (including Graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate and sticks) for $7, but recent visitors report these are no longer available. The campfires are lit around dusk — at 7:30pm during the summer months and as early as 5:30pm in the winter months, please see the Recreation Activities Schedule page for current times.

Definitely not weird nor frowned upon. They used to sell the fixings for s'mores in the Jackson Square gift shop. From what was posted above on portorleans.org, they no longer sell the kits. We have not been to POFQ in a couple years, so I can't confirm that. At CBR they didn't have s'more kits, but they did sell Hershey Bars and Graham Crackers separately. But if you bring your own fixings, you should have no issues.
