I am considering going to Disney during the Night of Joy weekend September 8 & 9 this year. The variety of Contemporary Christian artists there are blowing me away!

Has anyone ever attended this? What were the crowd levels like? Is it worth it to go? Did you strictly see the concerts, or did you go on rides, too?

Thanks!

Hi! Though we have never been to NOJ, we would love to go and plan to some year. I can not answer your questions specifically, but I do know that LOTS of youth groups from Florida attend NOJ yearly and that is who makes up the majority of the crowds. HTH. Anyone else ever been????

This will be year 3 in a row that we are going to WDW during NOJ weekend. However, as we aren't fans of that music, we do not attend. I can tell you that when the MK closes to guests and opens to those with NOJ tickets- there are LOADS of youth groups on the buses and streaming into the parks. And I believe that it's been completely sold out every time. But, in general, the attendence at the parks that weekend is really low- which is why we have stuck with going that weekend.

We went to NOJ 2005 - and the crowds weren't too bad if you got there before the official start time.

If you're going for the music - you'll love it. We saw Donnie McClurken (sp?) and CeCe Winans. It was a little bit (a lot actually) crowded in the Tomorrowland theatre - to the point we had to leave. And I'm not really claustrophobic. The castle forecourt stage was great though - lots of room!

The lines for the rides were AWFUL - and the kids were rambunctious.

I don't know if I'd go again. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary christian music. I got the tickets as a b-day gift for my wife.

We went to our very first Night of Joy last year, and loved every minute of it. We did the two night package deal. I can't wait to go back again this year, and have already purchased tickets from the WDW web site. It was a wonderful weekend of worship and good times together.

Hearing Casting Cowns, and then MercyMe with the castle in the background was so truly magical. The lighting effects on Cinderella's castle that were synchronized with many of the songs were amazing. Having all the gold ornaments up for the 50th anniversary added the perfect touch to the castle stage. :wizard:

The crowds during the day in all the other parks that weekend were VERY LOW. We walked right onto everything wherever we went that weekend. All of the young teenagers there from different church youth groups that we saw were very well behaved. I have read of some problems others observed, but we didn't see that. We didn't actually spend any time doing rides though during the Night of Joy concerts. If you're going for the music, you'll love it! :rolleyes1
