"Night of Joy" super-crowded?

Our first day at WDW is Sept 10, which is a Night of Joy. We had planned on going to MK that first day, we only have a few hours and will probably be tired from getting up early to catch the plane so are not expecting to get a whole lot done. We have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 6pm, which is also what time the park closes. We all want to go to MK the first day, because to all of us, that is what we think of when we think of WDW. Should we rethink that and go somewhere else instead? Is MK insanely crowded on a Night of Joy? What do y'all think?
