Ok, right now we arrive at WDW on Sept 10th, early afternoon (but haven't bought plane tickets yet). I'm REALLY considering changing to arrive on Sept 9th so that we can try NOJ. Now, we don't leave until the 21st, so it's not like we "need" the extra day or anything, this would be purely just to add NOJ. I really like Mercyme and Casting crowns and I believe they're there on Friday night.

For us, this may be a special husband/wife event or mother/son (9 1/2) thing.

Questions:
1) How much do you like NOJ? Enough to add a day to vacation?
2) What are the crowds like? (we did MVMCP last year and LOVED it!!!)
3) My DS loves christian music (that's all we listen to). Is the event "kid friendly"? Mostly worried about just crazy sized crowds and not being able to see any performers. Also worried about waiting a long time for one concert and that's all we see for the night.
4) we are DVC members and annual passholders. Any discounts on tickets?

I also have a DS (4 1/2) and he did great at MVMCP, but the cost of NOJ may keep me from having him attend with us. What's the opinion there? Honestly, I may not feel good about not letting him go with us.

If the rides are open with short lines, I may buy tickets for all (DM is coming, too). But, if the crowds are terrible, I many not want DM or DS (4) attending. Of course, there's always the option of skipping it all together, but it sounds like a good time to me!!!!

Oh, DH is not a big christian music fan, but he'll go with me if I want him to or not go - up to me.

Any information or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

DD 13 and I went last year for a mom/daughter trip and LOVED it! I would definitely add a day to be able to attend it, if possible.

Last year it was on 3 nights and we went the first and last. One night it rained off and on. There were crowds at the concert areas, but hardly any one on the rides! We rode Splash Mtn. and Space Mtn. several times without any wait at all - just walked on. The line for Dumbo was the shortest I've EVER seen - about 5 people in it!

There were lots of kids there, but also lots of teens from local church youth groups. There are several concerts going on at the same time - most of them are standing only, except for the one at the Tomorrowland Theater. We would just listen to a few songs, then wander over to a ride or another concert.

Last year there weren't any discounts on tickets, but I think this year there is an AP discount (check the Disney website or Allears to make sure).

Hope this helped answer some of your questions. Now I want to go back this year!

I've been several times and it always is great. I go mostly for the music, so couldn't really tell you how the ride lines are. The more "popular" bands/singers, as would be expected, have bigger crowds. I think it is pretty "kid friendly" for your older child, but may be a bit to crowded, loud, and late for your younger one.

The first year we went it was awesome. No lines, everyone was really polite and the music was great. We went back the next year (Three years ago) and the youth groups were outta control. A lot of"I just need to get with my group" line cutting. I mean a lot. Teen screaming matches, making out in line, ETC. Many of these kids are sent unchaperoned because there parents figure it is a youth group event, but unfortunately not all Christian children act very Christian when mommy and daddy aren't watching. :confused3
