Hi all!

We will be in the World from 2/17-2/23 for our HM :)

I was wondering what places we should check out and what the normal dress is in the evenings at the different clubs.

We prefer blues, 70-80's music, jazz, just not much for the hip-hop generation

Any input would be great!

Thanks so much.

Though people often dress up for PI, you can certainly get away with Park Casual, also - it's really up to you.

Our favorite at PI is the Adventurer's Club, which has essentially no music other than what is sung by the CMs during the performances... it is more offbeat humor than anything else, and most people either love it or just don't get it....

There is a club at PI that plays 70s and 80s dance music, though the name escapes me. It is toward the center of PI, if memory serves.

You might also enjoy JellyRolls at the boardwalk; it is a piano bar in which there are dueling piano players who know just about anything requested.

Have a great Honeymoon!

You probably will find more options at PI than Boardwalk.

As said before Boardwalk has JellyRolls in addition to Atlantic Dance wich at one time was a swing club but I think now they have added other themed nights like Latin night.

PI definately has more choices including a Jazz club, 80's club, rock and roll club and comedy club.

PI has the Beach Club, which has a live band that covers many popular "classic rock" and pop type songs, and between sets the DJ plays all kinds of music. We have found that is a "best crowd pleasing" place where everyone is likely to hear something they enjoy.

...do NOT miss the Comedy Warehouse. You won't be singing or dancing, but you will be grinning from ear to ear and, just maybe, laughing your **** off! :p Each show lasts about 30-40 minutes.

You should also see who's playing at the House of Blues while you're there.

Congrats and have a wonderful time!!

Definitely a *two thumbs up* for Jellyrolls and House of Blues!

Also, if you can, catch Circque de Soliel....it's AWESOME! You will need to plan ahead though, and order your tickets.

Have a great time! ;)

Good questions, cmman. Thank you for asking since it's something I would also like to know and didn't have to ask now! :)

On the Cirque DuSoleil thing..... I have bought a ticket (through WDW) and have reservations (will call-pick up at ticket box) and I thought I read SOMEWHERE online that it's casual dress there also... but wanted to make sure. When we attend any of their shows when it's here in Texas- we always dress up for the occasion. However, this time I'm on my own and just want to enjoy the circus- not make it a glamourous evening out. So is it really okay to go in jeans/shirt or should I pack dressier clothes?

As is true for almost EVERYTHING at WDW, we saw outfits that ranged from really dressy to shorts and t-shirts. I personally choose the middle-of-the-road approach. Nice, neat but comfortable - this is vacation after all :)

Cirque du Soleil is the "best show" on WDW property!!!

We're big PI fans, although for the last half dozen trips, we've followed the same routine: catch an early CW show, then spend the rest of the night in the AC. All the other places, to me, are just really nice bars. But we have in the past found the Jazz Club to be a nice place for a quiet drink. As for dress, we've also noticed everything from shorts and tee-shirt to jackets and dresses, but the majority leans towards "neat casual." Personaly, I always where decent shorts and either a light polo shirt or a short sleeve botton-up shirt. Always comfortable, without looking like road-kill. But for the record, we see the road-kill and no one even looks twice.

As an alternative to DTD and the Boardwalk, don't underestimate Citywalk. For older folk not able to grasp the hip hop nation, Jimmy Buffetts Margarittaville, Pat O'Briens, and City Jazz are great stops for good food, calm environment, and nice entertainment later on in the evening.

Pat_Elliott,

Go "Penn St"!!! My buddy has season tx for them and I usually go to 2 games every yr in your town.Even though I am a "Buckeye"(National Champs) fan.;) Go Big 10!!!!

One word of advice re: Jellyrolls....

Coming from CA (where non-smoking is the norm) I was surprised to find that Jellyrolls fills up with smoke as the evening goes on. For me this ruined the evening, since I have asthma & smoke aggravates it. Otherwise, I would say it's fun but noisy.

I didn't run into problems with smoking in PI, but we only go to the adventurers club...

ncligs,

Congrats on the National Title. A word to the wise, though....never attempt to root for a Big Ten team on a fall Saturday in the ESPN Club. BAD karma.......

You all have some great advice, keep it coming!!!

We have our Cirque resses, and I am dying to check out Jelly Rolls, its sounds cool. Hopefully, the smoke wont be too bad...

Do we need resses for House of Blues or CW?

Well, If I were you, i'd hit all the clubs and dance the night away... recapture your youth, let it all hang out... Why not go to 8trax for some retro music? Or perhaps some modern at Mannequins!

We have never been to PI or the Boardwalk, so I am sure we will spend a few evenings exploring.

I guess we'll have to save energy mid-day for evenings in the clubs :)

cmmam,

I've never done the House of Blues, except to walk in during non-meal hours for a drink at the bar, but I think for dinner and even lunch during peak periods, reservations are suggested. Then, there are "special events" that require tickets. This usually means a musical act of some name-recognition is playing. Their web site is: http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/orlando/

As for the CW, it's on Pleasure Island. PI after seven requires a cover charge. Right now, it's $19.95, but it's been $21 in the past, so it could fluctuate. If you're "into" PI, most of the time they have a deal where when you buy your ticket, for an extra five bucks you get five night's entrance. Once you've paid cover and are in PI, all the clubs within are free. Plan on standing in line for the CW. They do a show something like every 45 minutes. But it's worth it! And don't forget the AC....

Have fun.

Pat

We have the Ultimate PH pass, so I am not worried about admission.

FI is dying to go play at Disney Quest too. 26 more days and we will be in Disney!
