Night Life at Disney

My husband and I will be staying at AKL this February for three nights, we would like to go out two of those nights, one just on resort property to explore but the other we would like to enjoy a little night life, music, comedy or dancing. Does anyone know where in Disney we can experience this? And also any reviews on Simbas Playhouse or the Kids Nite Out in room care for our five year old? Thanks so much! This will be our first Disney vacation and we are so excited!!

Back a few years ago, you could have headed to DTD-Pleasure Island. But they closed all those places and haven't reopened much yet.

You could go for a nice dinner and EMH at the park that is staying open late.

If you have a car available and you are staying anytime Wed-Sat, you can go to POFQ Scat Cat Club to hear Elliot Dyson. He plays 4 different saxes, flute, keyboard, steel drums, guitar, and electronic wind instrument and sings. He plays all types of music ranging from Elvis to Jimmy Buffet to the Beatles to Neil Diamond to Frank Sinatra. He is quite personable and gets the audience involved. People sometimes do dance in the open space.
If you don't have a car, getting between resorts can be a hassle as there isn't resort to resort service - you either have to change buses (or other transportation systems) at a park or downtown Disney or take a cab.

It is a "dueling" piano bar. I went in December, it is very nice.
