Hi there...we are flying in a day early for our July 22-28 vacation at BCVs. We got a great airfare on SW from Philly that we couldn't pass up......trying to decide where to stay the night before?

I just called and got a rate of about $130 at a value resort or $199 at either Dolphin or Swan...any thoughts?

I am thinking of spending the little bit more at Dolphin/Swan...what are these resorts like? Anyone have a preference at Dolphin or Swan..what are the pools like? Rooms?

We are only coming in around 4pm that night so not a long visit....

Thanks!!

It's been over a year since we've stayed at either, but we enjoyed them both. We've stayed at the Dolphin more, so knew the lay of the land better, and found that when we stayed at the Swan we went to the eateries at the Dolphin out of habit. I like the main pool with the waterfall better than the pool at the Swan.

If I had to pick, I would go to the Dolphin again because I think the nice pool is closer, and just our familiarity.

Many of the S&D's restaurants honor DVC cards with a 20% discount, or they did when we were there, check it out!

I booked the Pop for the wknd before my BCV stay this coming April

I dont believe the Swan/Dolphin is eligible for ME from MCO if that matters to you

You are right about not being eligible for ME if you are going to S/D, I had checked into that once.

We have stayed at marriott world center.Excellent hotel (if you can get a decent rate)
raddision celebration decent hotel at good price.
The Swan and Dolphin are top notch.

Check for web discounts. AAA etc.
If you are not getting in to 4:00 pm i would not get too crazy pricewise.
Check mousesavers.
She has excellent info regarding area hotels and discounts.

How about just getting a studio at BCV, OKW or the like? A studio at OKW for that time frame is only 11 points a night, you'd have a better room than you'd get at either of the resorts you mentioned, and then be able to have your luggage transfered by DVC to your BCV 'regular' room? At even $130 a night, that works out to well over $10 a point - a good use of the points assuming you have enough for that.

The last time we did it, we got in 11PM, stayed at Pop, the went to BWV. Make sur that you check that S and D will transfer your bags between their resorts and BCV. I'm not sure if they will. At the other Disney resorts, you can transfer between EASILY by bringing your bags to bell services and letting them transfer your bags while you're in the parks.
Also, having ME is a huge advantage if you're not renting a car.
