We are considering staying at the Nickolodean Hotel in one of the Spongebob Suites in February 2009. For any of you who have stayed there - what do you think of the rooms? We are going with our 2 daughters - 2 and 6. We want a suite to facilitate naps, etc... Our main issue however is transportation to the parks. We have stayed on and off Disney property and enjoy using the buses vs. driving to the parks each day. How close is the Nick property to Downtown Disney? Is it within walking distance or would we need to drive and park to catch a bus? Does the hotel have a shuttle service that's reliable? Thanks for any info!!! BTW - our other option is the All Star Music Suites. Which would you choose?

We've stayed there a few times recently, but we go there just to play onsite and do all the water park stuff and the shows at the resort. We don't go to Disney when we stay at the Nick Hotel because we are too tired from swimming. You can't walk from there to Downtown disney. Wayyyy to far and on a very crowded high way. We didn;t use the bus from the Nick Hotel - even though we paid the $25 dollar resort fee. It looked like a very unforgiving time schedule and it is definitely not as convenient as the Disney Buses.
The spongebob suites we stayed in have bunkbeds and a sheet that closes off the kids room - no door. That may be important to you for nap time.

ASM suites may be too small if you want the kids to sleep because there are pull-out beds in the main living area or you would have to give them the bedroom that closes off.

Figure out what is most important and then decide. Perhaps 2 adjoining rooms at one of the values would work as well, if you just want a seperate space for naps.

Whatever you do, if you stay offsite with 2 little kids you will need to drive or be stuck with horrible waits and cranky kids. (in my experience)

We just got back from the GF and Nick Jr, I would agree with the PP Nick Jr is great for the pool and a couple of relaxing days. I have a Priority member number so they waived the 25 fee. We had originally planned on staying at ASM suites but got a code so we had 40% at the GF (could not turn that down). If you plan on napping I would try and stay at a Disney property. I agree the rate at Nick is awesome and my kids had breakfast with the Nick JR characters and we were the only ones in the cafe. We did not use their transportation but we did stay in a Spongbob room and the kids loved it. We will probably add a day or two at the Nick hotel next year after or before our disney stay just to relax.

We stayed there in July and three night is just plenty! We didn't go much to the parks as the kids really wanted to stay in the pool, get slimed, and try to get picked for the shows. They are 7,6, and 4. The rooms are just ok and don't expect it to be quiet. You would definitely need a rental car to get anywhere.
