My coworkers have taken to calling me "Vampira." I guess it's better than "Freaky Scary Goth-Punk-Rocker Chick" (yes, they've said that to my face as well).

My ex used to call me Jenny or Chumley. Jenny, because I called him Lionel, because his parents are George and Louise (as in The Jeffersons). Chumley, because I'd call him Tennessee (as in Tennessee Tuxedo).

The kids have Nicknames.

DS-Bud, Buddy, or Craigers. Grandma calls him Bubba. LOL
DD-Gorgeous, Sweetie or Madlee
The DH doesn't have a nickname, but several people call him by our last name.

Years ago we moved from NC to Anahiem and I worked in the ER at Los Alamitos Hospital. I admit that I have a southern accent but I never thought it was over the top. I guess I was wrong. EMT's would ask the ER docs to "make her say something". So, one of the ER docs christened me Magnolia Sweetwater and had a nametag made for me with that name on it. All of the EMT's and most of the non ER staff thought that was my real name.

My name is Amanda. So the obvious nickname that everyone calls me is Mandee.

When I was little one of my little sisters called me Mimi. My BFF still calls me this!

Oh yeah and my neices and nephews all called me Aunt Manny until they were older. Only one still does. He's 10. lol

I had posted earlier how I call one DS "Cubby"...well he is a Junior in college now and while he was in his Freshmen year I had gone to campus to see him one day. I noticed everyone and I mean everyone calling him something....

I said "Michael, what is that that everyone calls you?" and he replied "SPEEDY!" "What, I don't like that nickname it reminds me of either Speedy from Alka Seltzer (to which his reply was, "WHO") or it makes me think you are on speed or something."

He explained to me that because he is involved in literally more than 18 clubs and organizations on campus from the beginning of his days at college, it appeared to all his buddies that he was ALWAYS speeding off to some meeting, event, club, group, activity HENCE the name SPEEDY!!!!

Oh and btw: he ABSOLUTELY loves that nickname!!!
